After this season and today, I think it's clear. Marchisio has developed into one of the best CM's in Europe. I'll go as far as saying, baring Iniesta and Xavi, there isn't a more complete midfielder in Europe.
He doesn't impose himself enough to be worthy of that statement yet. But he's in a high category for two-way midfielders.

That was Spain, you'll see them a lot more comfortable up against players that aren't Xavi, Iniesta, Busquets, Xabi, Silva, Fábregas etc.

Thiago Motta was good as well.

giacch made one critical error. Was thinking DDR instead of him and Juve back 3 when the time comes but we see

True but don't u think Italy need help in Midfield ?
Midfield is fine as it is. De Rossi is amazing as a CB. Very demanding, technical and composed. Also a great passer with vision.

3-5-2 for the rest of the tournament for me.

As much as Andy likes to troll the Italy NT fanboys who have nothing remotely to do with Italy, they surprised me today and looked like one of the more interesting teams in this tournament.

DDR as a left wing back is a bit risky :d

Thought the error was down to Chiellini a lot more than Giaccherini. Barzagli to step in for Bonucci, perhaps, and the rest stays as it is.

It's not so much a weak generation as much as injuries and awful form of some players. As a matter of fact, the provisional squad for this euro was the same as the one for 2008+ Eduardo. On top of it our players were young back then and now they're all in their best years. But tonight we won't start with Eduardo, Kranjcar, Olic and except Modric, noone else can really make a difference. Not that Ireland has stars themselves, but even if we make it against them, it's impossible to get more than a point against Italy and Spain.

I should have said "team" there, instead of "generation"
