Praising what? We've entered that part of the conversation where it's necessary to specify exactly what we mean. Are you mad about people praising the singing fans? Are you mad because of the fans singing for the players? And I will agree that singing is a form of praise. Or are you pissed about all of it?
As far as fans go I don't think we've seen any right wing neo-nazi Ireland marches yet so as far as that goes Irish fans are looking a bit better than the Ukrainian, Croat, Russian, and Polish fans.
I am pissed off with so called neutral fans praising the Irish fans for their admirable behaviour. They went there to drink and have fun. The Italian fans go there, because they want to support their team in winning. They want to accomplish something. The Irish don't want to accomplish squat. It's fine with me that they enjoy themselves, but don't call the Italians sore losers and the Irish gracious in defeat.
Admirable is trying to achieve new heights. Striving for greatness is admirable. The Irish don't do that. And they don't have to. But why praise them for it? Praise should be hard earned.

What do you do when Belgium/Italy loses?
If they gave their all and kept on believing they could win, I will praise them.
The question always is: can you win and lose like a man?
And the Irish don't lose like men. They just lose.
