juventus710 has a good point.
Midfield today was the battle field where the game was lost. France two ball winners were simply superb in taking the possession away from Italians whereas Italia's midfield failed to put any decent pressure when French was in possession. This allowed IMO Viera to really dictate the pace of the match.
Pirlo or Gatusso isnt type of players ideally suited to playing traditional 4-4-2, and it showed last match.
As far as I am concerned Gila worked really hard as a lone-man up there doing all the hard for that fat toad Cassano. I like him as a player and I got a feeling Gila is bound to have 20+ goal season with a departure of Sheva, and a good outside bet to finish top scorer in CL. Buffon, Canna, Gila, Pirlo, Zambrotta are the backbone of the current crop, and Donadoni should buld the team around them.
BTW, I think Henry clearly lost a half yard on his pace. He still has that extra touch that sets him apart from the rest, but it is safe to say he is starting to reach his decline.
