On the postitive side, Italia is not going to defend they manner in which they did today. I say it was by far the worst Italian defensive display I have ever witnessed (At least Brazil played some breath-taking stuff in a 3-3 draw in 1997).
Now on a bad note, Italia looked really out of shape - not just players themselves but the whole structure of team. With very little margin of error from now on, Donadoni has to find his mix and stick it with until the qualification is safe.
I bet you now, how he will be regretting he wasted an golden opportunity to look at some of the players by playing second-rate no hopers against Croatia. That is for me the biggest mistake Donadoni made. It is clear from the last 2 matches he doesnt know his team yet, and certainly hasnt decided team tactics.
I do like the idea of giving Cassano a chance, because he is easily the most talented Italian youngster out there. But contrary to many popular opinion, the more I see him, he is not a trequarsista or playmaker by any means. Cassano's passing range is limited, and not very acurate to some of the standards he is up against, and most importantly he doesnt read the flow of the game like Valeron or Totti. So I say recall Totti if you can and play Cassano as a second striker.
