Good analysis there andy. So far euro 2008 destroyes WC 2006. Eg klose top scorer 2 years ago with 5 goals villa already on 4 in 3 games. No hatricks in W.C 06 already 1 in euro's. Plus the games are much more enjoyable if only the English commentators would stop drone-ing on about how crap it supposidly is with out them

In terms of Quality, yeah, I'd say that it's better than World Cup 2006. Although I still prefer the World Cups because my side has the chance to play in it. :p

Yeah, of course WC has more global impact as for about a month the whole world just comes to a stop to witness the prestige, class and excitement that only the world cup can create. But in terms of a more intense competition with greater technical quality the euro's is the one.
I agree with you the W.C great, I love seeing other players that can't play in Euro's get a chance on the biggest stage eg drog-bot and ivory coast. It's just what makes the world cup so much more legendary.
plus euro trophy sucks compared to the world cup :D

Andrei Arshavin (9.5) Loses the mark for his booking but otherwise faultless. As close as the perfect game as one can play. Resourceful, efficient, lethal - he made up for missing the previous two games. Exceptional talent.

Maybe the rating he got from the goal.com writer is too high but noone can say that he didn't deserve at least a 9.00.
I can't believe how much difference one guy can make. The Russians create many chances anyway but today they could have easily won 6:0 or 7:0 and i've never seen a team to create so many chances against Sweden, at least not in last 20 years.
And he was involved, actually he was the creator, in every single chance for Russia.

It's impossible to buy this guy, though. Zenit is giving him unbelievably high wages and it's tough to imagine him leaving his country where he's been payed a fortune for a foreign country where he'll be payed less than in Zenit.
Unless he feels he needs to prove himslef in the best leagues in the world then i don't see him leaving Russia.

I'm not even sure we need him. Arshavin plays the same football i expect from Giovinco and if i'm not wrong, i believe we'll see this football from Seba.

Nevertheless, the Russian is a great playmaker and a joy to watch.

Dude, we're talking about millions of drunk people, of course there are gonna be arrests. I'm talking about the city-wide riot that the doucebag english shitclub fans bring to the big game.
dude, when is the last time the poms caused a riot at a major tournament? They have behaved rather well of late, the days of the 'hooligans' seems to be over. FIFA warned them over their behaviour and they listened.

Please I'm not english but have lived here all my life, but I find it quite offensive that you are reffering to people from here as douchebags and shit
you can call the EPL all you want, I dont care, I hate it myself. but when you start insulting peoples identity its out of order

Fair enough. But Argentina should have pulled through against Germany in the WC06 quarterfinals. They are still missed in a tournament such as this. Even if their coach jokingly says the Euro is boring because teams only play to qualify (see: Italy; do not see: England).

The RFEF really needs to update that cheesy, Saved By The Bell-era design of their logo. Seville Expo '92 is long over.

Even Zaragoza has made that style irrelevant.
