In the attacking field, he's decent, not spetacular. He plays intelligently, IMO. I just think he is more balanced than Molinaro and De Ceglie. Obviously there are better full-backs than him but it's not like you can find someone young who is spetacular in attacking and can still defend well that easily. Anyway personally I'd like to keep him as a squad player alongside with another left-back who has better attacking ability.
De Ceglie does have the ability to break down the defense (if he plays as a fullback, not winger) when he has space to run. He has excellent athlete ability. De Ceglie's problem is when attacking he runs with the head down without observation and plays rather monotonously. Maybe with a good coach he can improve (both offensively and defensively).

By this, I didn't mean a modern full-back is all about defending. But there are other ways to offer to the attack than just runn down the flank to break the defense all by yourself and cross (Criscito made some good passes which resulted in good opportunities. He also ran into the box several times but sadly the teammate didn't deliver back to him). And you can also create space to cross by passing the ball around, not just by breaking the defense alone with your speed (even some wingers can't do that).
