Rossi became noted at 16-17 because Man U stole him after Parma were financially crumbling, and they preyed on them like vultures. Got more famous and seen due to going to Man U, emerging to top football sooner then Giovinco so to speak, nothing more then that.

Gio was playing in Primavera level until age of 20 per usual of Italian footie (Rossi would prolly be still in Parma primavera a while if he hadnt moved, or maybe make his debut at 17-18 like Dessena, who knows), but from what I can remember, not only wasnt he garnering interest from EPL/overseas clubs as a youngster, but his younger brother too (Chelsea). Difference being we can hold onto our talents, more or less us and the 2 Milan teams being only ones in Italy to do so in a way (though Milan have shit to speak of).

Rossi has trained and played in the EPL, A and La Liga which is something Balotelli hasn't experienced. Rossi has 92 club games at the top leagues in the some of best footballing countries in the world.

I think Rossi is the better player right now. Talent wise, who knows. One is 22 the other is 18. That stuff will play out over the years and we will be able to tell.

I don;t thnk there is any doubt that both are special talents.
Indeed, you are correct, but FYI, its 3 years difference, not 4.

And I rate Balo's talent, but I have more or less seen every single game he has played in senior footie so far I think, and I really dont think people should be in any hurry to overrate him just yet, even if his pure talent is obvious and he defenitely has the X-factor so to speak. But what I mean with seeing all his games is, he is young, and I seen him be very average, inconsistent, lacklustre more then seen him have being great, except obvious moments or games of showing his sheer talent (Roma games, his more or less debute against us in coppa year and half ago, was quite sick). He is still needs to show quite a bit more before being deemed be and all IMO.

Actually I think it's another way around, Rossi was stolen by Man U (in 2004) because he was already famous (and impressed in the tournament or something similar). Although it's also a truth that by playing aboard (in a different youth system) and gaining more experiences at an earlier age, he advanced even more than Giovinco.

Surfing on Uefa's official website, I found this. Rossi was on Italian U-17 team in 2003 and 2004. In the 2004 Euro U-17 tournament, he wore the No.10 and Giovinco was just a back-up (poor Gio). I don't know how to define "talent". Rossi is a player with a good sense of goal thus he can be quite decisive. While Giovinco technical wise, better than Rossi, is tactically very difficult and due to his lack of goal scoring, he can't be that decisive even if his other abilities are stronger.

FYI:
Line-up for the 2003 Euro U-17 tournament (many of these players haven't been heard now). Rossi was the only Italian player selected who was born after 1986.

Line-up for the 2004 Euro U-17 tournament (this team seemed to have less quality than the previous one)

Why in Reds (Gods) name did you say he was stolen from Man U, seriously????????

U-17 is too early to tell really, its more about physicality at that point (strong and quick, more physically developed, and you have it easy), and you can impress and then completely dissapear, as you know.

But 2003 team have several players who became known or are involved in senior footie in different ways, basically nr 6 and 8 are only starters who are unknowns in the starting eleven (all the rest became Azzurrini's). 2004, bit more grim, the 4 last in the lineup, the offensive players, are only noteable ones of almost whole squad (except Gio and Lupoli).

Motta is suspended for next game, so your boy will play :D

I like Pisano, decent player with good quick feet and lots of pace, but too short and physically weak too withstand direct challenges with his markers, is his weakness.
Great. :D

He can always work on that though, gain some muscle.

Dont see how Balotelli is more talented then Rossi at all. 3 years younger yes, but Rossi was an ace at 18 too, difference being had top class players like Rooney, Ruud, Ronaldo and et all ahead of him (While Inter only had Ibra being of any quality, plus he has the size and physicality to jump into senior footie quicker).
I knew It was only a matter of time before you say something similar:D

Balotelli is really huge for his age, him and Pato are the best young strikers in the world IMO, still, he can easily turn into Adirano II or just waste his entire career by playing the way Zlatan played in his 2nd season for Juventus.

let's hope it's only growing pains...footballing wise, it's been a long time since I have seen such an unbelievably talented player...people will say Messi and Ronaldo, and I might sound like a freak here, but this kid is just un-be-lievable
