Sure Sissoko can bully nancy boys with his crude methods but that would not mean a jot to a very hard man like Essien, who is possibly the most powerful midfielder in the world.

Sissoko will need help from his partner in CM but he can do great against Chelsea's midfield and he has proven that already.

I do not remember Sissoko being able to dominate the not so nancy Inter Milan midfield so how does he expect to do that against the Chelsea juggernaut?

Interesting because i remember Sissoko having a very good match against Inter. Actually he was the only Juve player who played on par with his previous performances and gave Inter's DMCs a lot of trouble. Unfortunately, the other 9 players were very bad.
There were stats after the match that showed how Sissoko won only two balls less than Cambiasso, Muntari and Stankovic together.
But all Inter midfielders played well while Marchisio, Nedved and Marchionni were like ghosts on the pitch and Sissoko was helpless. If he gets the required help from the other midfielders, Sissoko can certainly dominate Chelsea's midfield which certainly isn't physically superior to Inter's midfield.
If he doesn't get the help though, we can be humiliated because Chelsea's midfield is not only physically strong but they're also good with the ball at their feet.

Then we come to the Grosso vs Clichy argument. Juventus fans that have Molinaro as their left full back should not publicly make fun of anybody's left back talk less of Clichy.

I have nothing to be ashamed of this year's Molinaro. The guy is doing fine.
And even if he's inferior to most of the big team LBs, i still have the right to criticize another LB.
Clichy deserves to be criticized. Or to put it better, it's justified to reply to the overrating of Clichy.
This year he reminds me of Boumsong a lot. Boumsong also played some top defense during a match just so he'd make an amateurish and stupid mistake that will cost his team points.
I see the same from Clichy way to often. I thought he played a very good first half yesterday and then bang. He stupidly loses to ball to Kuyt who sends a cross to Gerrard but fortunately for Arsenal Gerrard missed an open goal.
I hate this kind of defenders. The defender must be concentrated for 90 minutes because 1 sec of deconcentration may lead to a goal. Of course, it happens to everyone to make a mistake, but it happens on every 10 or 20 matches. To Clichy it happens on every second or third match this year.
For me that's not a great defender. That's why i put him on the same level with other good but not great LBs like Maxwell and Grosso.

I never said he was a great defender and anyone that says he is great defender is mightily mistaken.

Full backs by and large are not great defenders, it is what they offer going forward that distinguishes them and please do not say Maldini as he is just a freak of nature. Case in point Philip Lahm, you cannot say he is a great defender now can ya but he is excellent going forward.

He is better than Maxwell and Grosso and whilst molinaro might have played 2 or 3 good games, it is churlish to say he is anything other than ordinary but such is the state of Italy's left full back that he harbours hopes of going to the world cup.

It is funny how you use stats and say that Sissoko won 2 less balls than Inter's entire midfield that could well be true but you have to understand we were hardly with the ball so there was no ball for them to win and when we were with the ball we surrendered it pretty cheaply.

It is also utopia to expect any player to concentrate for 90 minutes but like I said defending is not the best part of Clichy's game at all but as a left back, it does not really need to be and with his pace, he manages to get out of silly situations that he finds himself in

Sissoko was the only one who showed up in the Inter game, our MF was completely overrun because of the absolute no show of Nedved and Marchionni...Momo has been great all season barring the Palermo game, and he will definitely manhandle the Chelsea MF in February

i.for one, believe this is a very winnable game. chelsea are nowhere near as methodical and strong as they were under jose, they are far too central in attack also. the great thing about them under jose was the width that robben etc brought, that allowed lampard a lot of room to bomb forward but i feel that with deco,ballack and lampard they now play far too narrow.

we are set up perfectly to counter that sort of football, we are very solid through the spine of the team and i feel this could possible be a good draw for us. had we drawn a team that was more reliant on wingers then we may have struggled as down the flanks is where we are weakest IMHO. but give us an opponent who likes to play centrally and we will absorb pressure with ease.

I don't think we are set up to counter a team like Chelsea. We do better against sides such as Barca and Real who play a possession game but cannot step it up a little pace-wise. Chelsea can play a quick, efficient game, plus they have strength through the center of the pitch. We have seen before that such teams cause of problems.

Hell, all the top EPL sides cause us problems because we can't elevate our game and get a hold of the ball.

Sissoko actually took both Lampard and Essien out of the match and Liverpool won 2-0 on goals by Kuyt and Crouch. It was a couple of seasons ago. He marked up Lampard and forced Essien to play much deeper than the "Special One" wanted. In essence he took out two birds with one stone. Granted, Sissoko had Alonso or Gerrard beside him in that midfield, but the truth of the matter is Momo's best games in a Liverpool jersey were against the Chelsea midfield.

Though I do agree with you that to assume Giorgio will own Drogba simply because he handled Zlatan is dumb. Drogba is much stronger and faster than any striker Chiellini sees in the Serie A. Zlatan doesn't touch Drogba as far as I'm concerned. He may have a bit more technical skill, but Drogba brings athleticism and work ethic to the table.

tbh i feel that the chelsea of 2 years ago would have dismantled this current juve team, we are pretty much all in agreement that the Fb positions are our weak point. we are pretty solid through the middle and that,in my opinion,is where chelsea tend to focus their attacks now. sure they still have adventurous wing-backs but their main threat is now through the middle of the park. with us being so strong through the centre of our team i feel we have a better chance of nullifying their threat.

One thing Amauri can't do is reach Drogba's level of mean. Drogba is a huge ass and he's dirty. But at the same time he's skilled. I remember the CL battle between Agger and Drogba from the CL Semis in 2007. I thought the two were going to get into an actual brawl. It should be a good contest.

I think the best situation Chiellini to figure out how to handle Didier is during training have a random player smack Giorgio in the face everyday from now until the week of the match. Then he'll be ready.
