Grosso was decent in Palermo and scored some set piece goals, he WASNT top fullback at all. 2-3 years ago wasnt that long ago. He didnt go with much expectations to Inter, even if he wasnt expected to be that bad for them.

Clichy's level is how he has been performing for Arsenal for the last years, and Grosso not being in that level because has been AVERAGE his whole club career.

How convenient.

He is having inconsistent season, lets concentrate that on alone, lets also disregard Grosso hasnt been anything but painstacklingly average in his club career, and conveniently disregard this half a season isnt the norm for Clichy, but being a top fullback for a couple of seasons, one which he was chosen as the best in his positon, being more of and indication the level he has held.

I can understand why you would ignore all that when you would compare them (lets judge Clichy on these few months alone, and lets judge Grosso on 7 games, and not a decade of mediocrity, aslong its convenient, its all good) . I understand, to try to hit home with the little you got.

So its Chelsea.

We really got the hardest from 2nd placed teams. Its a tricky tie. Scolari and his tactics dont scare me, but its the pure quality roster of players what they have. The old guard has to be all fit for this one.

The only player i am worried about is Nedved. I just cant see him doing anything against those Chelsea players. But i cant see Ranieri picking Giovinco over him, in such a massive game (Ranieri always goes with the experience on big games). Such a pity it will/would be though.

Villarreal-Panathinaikos: 80/20
Sporting-Bayern: 15/85

One good season Osman, one good season. You can't talk about couple of good seasons, but only one single season.
If someone was average, then had one good season and is now average again, then it's you the one who makes that one season the norm for Clichy.

sure is a tough game.
An early Final if you will, but again, this is Juve, and if we really want to be in the finals we should show europe what we are made of and not to spare any chance to push and push until we reach Rome.

Tinker man has proven that he/the squad would rise to the game level and play to win. Hopefully by feb we would have a full squad to be ready for that big battle.

I'm worried about the second leg though. 8 March we have Torino, 10 March we have Chelsea. Not much rest there.

If anything I think Chelsea's problems will get worse over Christmas. They seem to have internal problems with their coach, can't win against big teams, have players like Alex asking for transfers, have drogba causing tension on the bench, have the players questioning their coach's decisions, have their money bags owner refusing to buy the players the coach wants and they will have to play games over christmas while Juve rests. I think all of these problems will grow and cause alot of difficulties for them.

Juventus though are in great form and great spirits.. we will also have alot of confidence when we get Trez, Gigi and Camo back now that Zanetti has returned.

don't forget tiago as well :spliff:

Nedved showed against Real that he can still give the odd massive performance.

Provided he is fit and not tired, there will be no reason to worry about Pavel.

I would play Nedved as a starter simply because of his massive experience. De Ceglie can come on later in the game and replace him, but we desperately need experience to be on our side when we play Chelsea, since we aren't techinically superior than them at all, we must rely on our old guard.

Why do you find it so hard to understand?

I don't care about the reasons. I only know that he was no-one and nothing before 2007 and after that one single season (no, he wasn't even close to anything special in 2006-07) he's again average.
To sumirize...we're talking about a guy who had one single good season (not great season). He's young and he may improve, but so far it's only one single season.

You say that Grosso is hyped due to one good WC or EC but you're doing the same. Overrating a player because of one good season.
Whats the point of a football debate if only numbers count and reasons don't, your clutching at straws here Alen.

Your the only one making the assumption that he had one good season. What about the 2006-07 season? he was the second best fullback in the league at that season and put C.Ronaldo in his back pocket in both games. He was one of our top performers that season as well. But you keep on conveniently ignoring that and only counting last season.

Again with this Clichy bullshit :blah: :blah: Don't you ever get tired of that brown nosing? He must be the most overrated guy out there, still remember his blunders that will surely make history of overall EPL crap. Clichy can't bring anything new to this team and it's LB position. That's a fact.

"Juventus will also provide stern opposition for Chelsea, but Luiz Felipe Scolari will be happy to have missed Barcelona, and I fancy last season's runners-up to navigate what will be a tricky assigment.

Chelsea will hope to have almost a full compliment of players by the time the ties are played, and even though Juve topped their group and improved from earlier in the season when Ranieri's post was under threat, they should reach the last eight."

Bring it you fucking English cunts. :)

Well, I didn't want Chelsea before but now I'm more optimistic and excited. I actually think if both teams are at full strength we can match them closely department for department. And as already acknowledged here, Stamford Bridge is no longer the fortress it was under Jose. Of course, I think we will rely on 2players, Chiellini and Del Piero. Also, if we win I am going to put "The Bridge Is Over" (KRS One) on full volume for my Johny-come-lately Chelsea fan friend/neighbour to here.:D

Man U - inter is ideal for me, the two teams I hate most and one has to go. Of course, i would prefer Man U to lose as they are more of a threat than :inter:, plus the further inter go in the tournament the better for us in Serie A. The possibilty of playing inter in the CL final in Rome would be so frigging sweet you can't imagine.

If we can win the trophy by beating them in Italy, the emotions would be undescribable. It would have actually Calciopoli worth it, just to see Del Piero, Trezeguet, Camoranesi, Buffon and Nedved lifting the trophy, Pavel with tears streaming down his face, Giovinco, De Ceglie and Marchisio becoming Juve legends already, Chiellini, Momo and Iaquinta running around the stadium like pyschos on crack, Camel leaving the stadium and Zanetti lying on the pitch hiding his face in shame. I swear I would weep like a little bitch from such bliss and pride.

P.S. Aris/Risa, did you know that the first day of the round of 16 is on Carnival Tuesday?:disagree: Anyone know if Juve plays on the Tuesday or the Wednesday?
