Is there any chance we can be above Dortmund or PSG if we beat Benfica?

Surely if we go above them we could get pot 1
If we beat Benfica 2 times we will get 5 points (2 points per win, 1 point for getting through to the final). So we will gather addititonal 5 points to our 79.354. It gives something around 84.3. It means, if events unfold this way I mentioned above we will be above Borussia and PSG.

The same Napoli that lost against Porto, that is 15 points away from Benfica in the Portuguese League? Sure, no comments to that, you really should get some notion.

But Juventus is favourite, and that is very good to us. =)

sorry for my bad english.
Juve and Benfica are quite alike this season. Both are cruising in the domestic league and both had a bad campaign in CL. Yes, we finished with 5 points and you managed to win 3 games in the groups stages but you experienced some difficulties. In attack you didn't have a player who would score more than 1 goal in the CL. Your victory as visitors against Anderlecht came with an own goal and a goal in the stoppage time for 3-2. Also your victory against PSG. You were playing in the last game with them as a host and they were already qualified as first team in the group. So we are not that different. We both chocked in the group stage.

So I fully agree with The Cusp that the chances are 50/50. Our advantage is the strong midfield and defence + world class keeper. Yours is the pace in attack and some experienced players in defence. If Conte can make our players to play like the first 10 min against Lyon or the full 90 minutes against Lazio for the italian Super Cup we will qualify. If we let Benfica to play their game and we decide to sit back - we won't qualify. I think that the games will be won by the team which is in better shape. Or, perhaps, the team that is ready to f@#ing die on the pitch and leave it's lungs there.

Thats what I think. Nah, I might be dead wrong. :motta:

Also Oscar Cardozo is a great threat. A top class forward who is very strong physically but also with an amazing technique.

Benfica played very very bad at the start of the season, our best game in the champions was a 1-0 lost against Olympiakos in Greece, where we dominated all the game, did 20 ou 30 shot's and Roberto save them all, this Benfica it's a very very diferent team, way better and different that it was at the start of the season, but you're right, Benfica did a very bad UCL group stage, even with 10 points.

The Point is, this Benfica that will face Juventus, is very different, much much better, I can tell you, for example, in that start, we were with 5 points less than Porto, now we have 15 more, if Sporting Lisbon lose points today, and Benfica win his game, Benfica is champion and can start doing some rotation and bet on the UEL.

Benfica midefielders are also very good players, Enzo it's like a older Pogba, you'll see why I say this, it's really a great player.

Cardozo don't make part of the first team, our best striker this season is Rodrigo, plays in the back of Lima, if Rodrigo dosen't play, probably will play Markovic in his place and Salvio at Right.

Will be a very good game I hope.

He should be suspended, if that is the case. I am more worried/concerned by Benfica as a collective, not as individual players. The team plays hard, they have a system, and they play for one another, so unless we are focused for 180+ minutes and plan to give 100%, we shouldn't bother showing up.

Assuming Arsenal don't qualify, we have to hope Porto fail in the qualifiers as well, as Schalke are almost guaranteed a spot in the CL next season (barring a monumental collapse). If both Arsenal and Porto fail to qualify, then we will get into pot 1 (provided we negotiate the Benfica hurdle that awaits us). Otherwise, Schalke get the vacated spot in Pot 1, and we end up being the first team in Pot 2.

Hello everyone I'm a Benfica fan and I am saving some quotes that I read in this topic that I'll hopefully show you in the end of these 2 games. You mustn't know Benfica. The way you talk about "how ridiculous is winning only 3-0 against AZ" and "the worst team in EL atm" shows perfectly that you don't even know our players and lineup. Maybe Juventus has an huge surprise, let's wait. You should at least have some respect by this club who has much more "name" and history than your "super sayan" Juventus.

Good luck.

:howler: Maybe you should brush up on your knowledge of our club's history before talking out of your ass buddy.

A lot of us actually rate and respect Benfica. It is just a bunch of ignoramus little girls and FM experts that underrate your team, not all of us by any means.

No one thinks you're the worst team in the Semis. As I said, I think Juve and Benfica are the best two sides remaining. However, certain people keep pointing out our poor wins against Lyon. I pointed out that your result against an even weaker AZ was no better. At least we outplayed Lyon over the course of each match. I watched your 1-0 away win against AZ. They were definitely the better side in that match. You had a good second leg. But the first was an abomination that according to the run of play, you deserved to lose.

And history? We both have two Champion's league titles. Yours are from the 60s though, whereas ours are from much more recently. We also have 3 Europa/Uefa Cup titles and you have none. We've won two Intercontinental titles and you've won none. Our European history is far superior to yours. We're fourth in terms of UEFA trophies won with 11, behind only Madrid, Barca, Milan. You're 25th, with 2.

Juventus ---- 11
Benfica ---- 2

If you're going to troll, please try to have at least a credible argument for why your club has a superior history. Otherwise, it just comes across as pathetic.
