Watching Arouca-Benfica 's 2nd half and damn they play high pressure all over the pitch, fast football.
Markovic, Gaitan, Rodrigo those guys will run circles around our defence.
If we play like the lethargic version we are doing the last few months, we're fvcked for sure.

Arouca...Juventus.
I know :D... but that Benfica fan here said they play their full squad in their league matches unlike most EL ones, plus they needed this win to get closer to the title asap, so I guess them goin all out for the win here, was a good way to get a look see on their style, and what their attack will be like in they're own stadium against us.

Only Fesja and Luisão didn't play, and Arouca in known as the "Bus", because they put all the players in the defense when they play against a stronger team.

They're not going to attack us like that, because we are 100X the squad Arouca is. Arouca is weaker than any side in Serie A by a country mile. The weak sides in Portugal are Serie B strength... at best.

:agree: I'm sure they're gonna defend most of the time in their own turf against us, where they need a win. specially with the all dominating, super attacking possessive football we're showing lately.

I don't think they're going to defend, neither do I think we're going to spend the match attacking and pressing hard... However, to think they're going to attack us in the same way they do Arouca is silly. I'm guessing the possession will be right around the 50% mark, and the they might have a couple more shots than we do, seeing as it is their home leg. They'll press us, sure, and we'll surrender possession cheaply on occasion, but we have the players to make teams pay for pressing us in the midfield. Hence the reason we keep winning against sides that man mark and put our players under high pressure, and try to attack us.

No one is saying we're doomed. Donpiero was merely pointing out that he was impressed with Benfica's pressing and fast football. You know... the style of play we usually find most difficult playing against because it won't keep our CBs free to pass the ball for 10 consecutive minutes, and so it forces them to play it quickly. But hey, let's keep trying to find ways to ignore the obvious.
