We shouldn't be hammered if we play to our potential. It's just Benfica, remember? If we play as we did against Lyon though? In both legs? We'll see, and obviously I hope I'm wrong before you label me as something else.
And if Benfica play as well as they did against AZ, in both legs? We'll see. As I said, I don't think we're overwhelming favourites. If Vidal was healthy I'd bump out odds higher, but even so, I'd say 55-45 Juve over Benfica. And assuming we get the final 60-40 over Valencia, 55-45 over Sevilla.

You guys just need a little more faith. What harm is there in believing in your team? Even if we are eliminated, so what? Yes its disappointing but we move on and hope for a better go next season.

Do you guys just want to be here to say 'told you so'?

Right... We are slight favourites. I guess if Bayern don't win UCL they are failures then? Every team that doesn't win the UCL or EL has failed. The correct usage is Joe's. We'd disappoint as favourites, if we don't win. But seriously, it's Europe... How often does the strongest side going in win? Getting to the semi-finals is success, I'd like to go further and win, especially because we seemingly have the strongest side remaining, but if we lose, we lose, it's not the apocalypse.
Good countering.

And again, this is not a question of what we'd like. Stop saying that you want us to win as if you want to get to me. It's stupid.

If Conte won't change his tactics and approach, you won't need to wait much longer to witness us getting hammered.
he wont change anything and we will still win it. why would he change his tactics and approach now, in the middle of the most important part of the season?

Are we playing against Bayern Munich or Benfica ?

people here act as we are Inter

Because we're not playing Chievo or Torino.

So I'll assume that's what it is.
Yes, after all the convincing and dominating victories we've had recently, I'm waiting for our first bad display to come here and say "I told you so". Do you even try to make sense?

But we're getting the results we need. You're making it seem as if we're a relegation team about to go up against the best team in the world.

Joe, I don't care if we win 1-0 or 4-2. A win is a win, especially in the league. What scares me though is the fact that we are so predictable, boring and slow these days, that even if with a little bit of luck we're managing against the minnows, it won't work in Europe. To think we'd have learned something from the Danes encounters this and last season the CL, but we didn't. We're too arrogant and stubborn to learn from our mistakes. This is what worries me. I don't want us to play tiki taka. I want us to play like a team with a plan, not having Bonucci passing the ball to our other CBc and play one touch with Gigi for a minut before he blatantly crosses it to one of our attackers who could do nothing with it anyway. Every fucking game. Don't tell me you don't notice this, but maybe because you're happy we're still clinching results this way. And part of me agrees with you. There's just another part of me which knows that when we face a good enough team (like it almost happened with Lyon), we're gonna be taught another lesson if we don't do nothing about it.

Fair enough. I just prefer to hope for the best.

So they are either Bayern Munchen or Chievo, can't they be Benfica? :D

But seriously Benfica, Sevilla or Valencia it was all the same to me, we should be able to beat any of them, but on the other hand so was the case with Copenhagen and Galata.

And then you had to post this. Silly me. See, I can agree with this 100 percent. I don't see us getting hammered, or taught a lesson, but I can see us losing if our form and gameplan doesn't improve. Eventually we'll fall on the wrong side of Lady Luck in a close match we need to win. Yet... Having that happen a couple times a year isn't the end of the world. I think we've just gotten complacent with all the more dominating victories we had early in the season. It will bite us, yet hopefully we'll voice back when it does. In fact, I know we will. Conte has proven that so far, that he knows how to have this team bounce back from a setback.

Anyways, excellent post.

It would be very unfortunate. I would be disappointed if we don't go all the way, yes.

Even Mourinho said we don't deserve to be in the EL, the calibre of our squad should be in the CL.
Mourinho said the same about Benfica, just saying. :p

And I already said, we played all the games in this UEL with almost a "second team", outside against Az wasn't different, they could have scored in the first half, but in the second they were lucky in don't conceded more than 1 goal... and in that game we played with Ruben Amorim and André Gomes, not with Fesja and Enzo, we didn't played with a true defensive midfielder and Gomes isn't a young boy that is still looking for show some quality, that is really important in this team, when Amorim get out and Almeida was in his place, was tottaly diferent, this second one gives more in a defensive way that Amorim.
