Welcome to the forums mate and ignore the opinions of some of these biased clowns here.
Quite a few of us know how good this benfica team is so its natural we'd be anxious about this tie.
For me its 50-50 but if we play like the way we played against OL then we're defo out.
Ridiculous. That cuts both ways. Benfica played like bunk against AZ, especially first leg. They were out-possessed and out-chanced and were lucky to win against a terrible side. It would have been the apocalypse if we played that badly against a team like AZ. We beat a side of similar quality Trabs 2-0 in the first leg with half out regulars sitting and people cried foul. Both sides need to perform better next round and if both teams were to play to potential, we're slightly better. I'd give it 55-45 Juve right now.

Regardless, don't be ridiculous.

If Benfica plays like they did against AZ, they are definitely out. See what I did there?

Get some perspective.

I can only hope to be proven wrong at the end of the day.
Still nothing changes for me.Its a 50-50 tie in my book.

Cheers to that. At least you hope to be proven wrong and that Juventus succeeds. Some 'Tuz members would rather be proven right and have us fail so they can parade their inane psycho-babble throughout the forum about this "dreadful" Juve side and "awful" manager of ours. :sergio:

Who? You don't make such bold statements like that with nothing backing you up.

Mou uses defensive approach only against the top sides whereas we sat back trying to defend the lead against the likes of fiorentina and lyon.learn the difference pls.
I am not discrediting our wins here but we can take an unbiased perspective here cant we not.
Conte should make them all listen.

So anything but winning it is a failure, right?
It would be very unfortunate. I would be disappointed if we don't go all the way, yes.

Even Mourinho said we don't deserve to be in the EL, the calibre of our squad should be in the CL.

I'm pretty sure in the past few weeks I've read multiple comments suggesting that we we will have to start losing before Conte will change his tactics and approach, and the suggestion has been made that this should happen sooner as opposed to later for the benefit of our future success... which is totally absurd.

We both also know that if we happen to lose to Benfica, which is entirely possible, the forum will be afloat with "I told you so", and this certainly implies a glee at the prospect of a potential EL exit for some of the more extreme harbingers of doom we have here. They'll relish the opportunity to rub the loss in the face of people who actually want success in the immediate future.

I'm not saying they want Juve to fail long-term but those calling for Conte's head have made it clear they hope he starts failing so we can move on to a "hypothetical better" Juve in the future.

Don't run away from the question. I didn't ask you how you'd feel. Of course you'd be disappointed, as I would be as well.

My question was, since we're the clear favorites, anything but going all the way is a failure, right?

If Conte won't change his tactics and approach, you won't need to wait much longer to witness us getting hammered.

What do you mean failure? I think reaching the semi-finals was a good accomplishment and winning Serie A for the third time in a row is too.

Anything can happen in the semi-finals, but that doesn't mean we're not favourites.

My whole point is that we're favourites in this tournament. I don't know what's so hard to understand.

This. A loss would be incredibly disappointing. Yet, it's football. The best team doesn't always win. It would be a bitter pill, but we'd survive and grow from it for next year.

You can't say we're favorites and then not consider it a failure if we won't win it. Of course anything can happen, and that's exactly why you don't say stupid shit like we're favorites at this stage, especially when all the remaining teams play the exact same football we struggle against.

Cool. And there's another fan that's as malleable as plasticine. I don't see us getting hammered at all. We've been hammered twice in 3 years. By a Bayern that hammered Barca 10x worse last year. Name one other example of us getting hammered? Examples please. Or else stfu and learn how to support Juventus.

I don't see us getting hammered in the near future at all. Not even Madrid hammered us. Napoli away, they outplayed us, but certainly didn't hammer us.

Look Mourinho is an idiot who wanted to troll nothing more.

On paper this squad is good enough to play in CL but paper will accept everything. I said a couple of weeks ago Atletico has a better team than ours and many said "bullshit". Now all of sudden everyone respects them, see as dark horse and keep fingers crossed for them.

On paper we're strong but that's about it. On tactical and organisational level this team isn't as good as some think it is. It's not all Conte's fault of course because he uses the best players he actually has. The share of duties in the team aren't just right.

We shouldn't be hammered if we play to our potential. It's just Benfica, remember? If we play as we did against Lyon though? In both legs? We'll see, and obviously I hope I'm wrong before you label me as something else.

Right... We are slight favourites. I guess if Bayern don't win UCL they are failures then? Every team that doesn't win the UCL or EL has failed. The correct usage is Joe's. We'd disappoint as favourites, if we don't win. But seriously, it's Europe... How often does the strongest side going in win? Getting to the semi-finals is success, I'd like to go further and win, especially because we seemingly have the strongest side remaining, but if we lose, we lose, it's not the apocalypse.

In other words, you want your team to play with flair and fancy. GTFO of here.
