the way I see it right now
If Arshavin stays at Zenit then:

    1) Real Madrid
    2) Zenit
    3) Juventus
    4) Bate Borisov

well I may be pessimistic but right now this is how I see it
If we buy another defender my mind could change
a midfielder could change my mind too but a defender is top priority IMO
I like it how some of you read football matches. So If Arshavin stays with Zenit we're most probably eliminated but If he doesn't extend his contract with them then we have big time chance to qualify. Interesting.

I guess having Del Piero Buffon Trezeguet Nedved Camoranesi not to mention others most probably won't be enough because the great Arshavin is there.

    A little off topic:

Ive a question for anyone living in Czeque Republic:

Il be in prague the week that the CL starts and was wandering what the chances are of me being able to watch Juventus v Zenit in a local pub or something. What game do you reckon the tv channels over there will possibly be showing? thanks for any help.

I don't think many are taking them lightly. Realistically Juve are between "We'll win the group for sure" and what this guy says :
I believe it will be close yet we will progress, but the people who are taking Zenit lightly are foolish in my opinion.

I also think it's humorous how many people in this forum literally laugh off some concerns Juventus has with our current squad. People joke that we're "dooooomed." Okay, that's alright. Perhaps some concerns may turn out to be foolish. But what exactly makes people of this club tick?

For years the supposed "pessimists" have been castigated for their opinions. Why? Well, they are seen as people who don't believe in the team. Those supposed "pessimists" are actually a limited few for the past four years. Whether or not those "pessimists" got the decisions right, it doesn't matter. It's not like they're promoting some objective here to prove a point. Fuck, proving a point is only done on the pitch. Or a courtroom.

Of course I sound like a broken record with this rhetoric, but I just do not understand some fans' complacency with the decisions of this club. Of course I will naturally be labeled a board thrasher, but really, it is my opinion we have not improved the quality of the squad whatsoever and I stand by my verbiage.

I suppose my final sentence here is: for every heart of a club is a brain. Do not let one create an unequal balance.

Well, that was the most horrible, when I saw Zenit and Juve - my favourite clubs - in a one group. I really hope, that Juve and Zenit will kick some Real ass in our group.
As for the last news, I can tell you, that Arshavin will stay in Zenit. Maybe until december, maybe until next summer. But I can tell you for sure - Arshavin is a very astable player. Our best players (and stable) - Tymoschuk (our captain), Zyryanov, Pogrebnyak, Anyukov, Sirl.
I can't tell about Danny, because he is a new one in our team. But he played in Dynamo very-very good.

    Forza Zenit and Juve!

And the people who spoke out about tactics with Capello were correct, as we were shit. The Werder match away was one of the most pathetic matches I've seen. Liverpool and Arsenal, too. So much quality yet so much mediocrity on the pitch. We were horrid.

Though group, zenith hasn't been performing yet as they have ben last season but the two matches against them will be the key.
I saw Bate two times, they won from Anderlecht, they aren't a bad team but we shouldn't loose points against them, maybe Zenith will.
Real is a team we have beaten in the past so if we could do it again, it would be great, I think we could surprise them at home.
Liverpool's group will be the most interesting one, 4 teams all equal strong, maybe PSV is the weakest of the 4.

    Inter's group is a joke.

So you really believe a team like Zenit or Bate can screw us over for second place? No chance in hell..Zenit is not the team they were last year and Bate are this year's Willem II. Even with all our probelms in the defense we are still vastly superior to those two teams. It would be different if we got a Werder or Atletico alongside Real but a one-hit Russian wonder? If we don't breeze through this group alongside Real we are definetly not ready to play CL yet.
