Fair enough...

but i sense a small incompatibility with our schedule and this 57%
the program favors Zenit a bit more than that and we are not the old Juve to easily break through, third place is not that unlikely, esp if we dont win the first game!

Well it all depends on these first two games. They are very tricky and against new opponents and we usually don't do well there. Even during our glory days we used to have complications against smaller teams.

The 80% is basically true if we get 6 out 6 in the first two games.

Why even bother playing those matches?
When is the next draw?

EDIT

Alen do you know if there is a pre-determined scheme considering the rank ups of the groups?
Meaning group leader H, faces group runner up G ?

That's the case with Inter and their joke of a group. They can simply qualify with 18 points and not a goal conceded. I am so having Julio Cesar in my CL team.

the way I see it right now
If Arshavin stays at Zenit then:

1) Real Madrid
2) Zenit
3) Juventus
4) Bate Borisov

well I may be pessimistic but right now this is how I see it
If we buy another defender my mind could change
a midfielder could change my mind too but a defender is top priority IMO

I think its a good group..it could have been tougher, as long as we keep our heads, respect our inferior opponents that little more we have every chance of qualifying.

Nope.
There will be a new draw in mid/late December and we can face any team that won the group (if we're runner-ups in our group) or any team that ended 2nd (if we win the group), apart from the team that will proceed from our group and apart from the other Italian teams.

There is also a new draw for the 1/4 finals. Only then they have pre-determined scheme for the semifinals.
In the quarters and in the semis teams from the same country can play eachother.

Thank you Allen:juventus:

If Russia invade Belarus, UEFA will disqualify both teams , teams from the same country are not allowed in the group stages. :D
Or at least we would play in a neutral country!:santa:

Vlatko, will you skip those first CL group games since you already know, we are through?:p

I think we'll play on neutral ground vs BATE Borisov, but unfortunately it will still be played in Belarus, in Minsk.
Bate's stadium is very small, for 5 000 people, and from what i could see yesterday it hardly qualifies for a stadium that could host CL matches.

Lets give them a helping hand and play both legs at Olimpico.

They played their qualifiers at their own stadium, im not sure if uefa have a stadium limit. But even so 7 years ago they did play their match against milan at the dinamo stadium which has a capacity of about 40000. Although only 15000 filled that stadium at that time.

It's not only about the capacity. It's about the whole package and some stadiums simply don't fulfill UEFA structural criteria.
BATE's stadium looked really bad and that's why i thought they might not be alowed to play CL football there.
But if it's a category 3 stadium according to UEFA standards then they can play there.
