Hydde is talking out of his ass anyway. We were very close to beating Chelsea and we were unlucky to go out. And Chelsea almost knocked out Barcelona. Sure, Barcelona have a much better side than we have, but that doesn't mean we can't win on our day.

Look at the video footage. Zanetti's long ball is A LOT better than Xavi's. Why do you think we play Zanetti every time we can?

Fred, the others were making the same arguments as I was. I don't take kindly to your unnecessary and childish behaviour here.
Because we don't have players better than him in that position :shifty:, still not saying much.

The comparison between zanetti and xavi is ridicolous to say the least.

xavi >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> zanetti, but we still love zanetti

Im starting to feel huge ovverating of one player and underrating of the other. Sure, Xavi has a bigger trophy cabinet and stats speak in his favour, but come on, there's not that huge gap between them, as our guy has been quite unlucky with injuries this season. Their roles in clubs are similar, so you believe that Barcelona >>>>>>>>> (x 9999999999999 millions) Juventus?

But no really, i mean Vlatko, Pitbull and the others were all making rather good arguments even if i did not agree with them, Seven on the other hand made that ultimate comparison that would have made Badass proud, Zanetti a better passer than Xavi :howler:
Zanetti better passer than Xavi:snoop:

Zanetti is great I just love the man... any opinion I may give on this manner might be slightly biased toward Zanetti as I'm a Juventus supporter and a real admirer of Cristiano.

Xavi is simply the best passer in the game IMO, I'd like to think of Zanetti as a better passer than Xavi but then I'll have to say Zanetti is the best passer in the game... an idiotic biased claim to say the least.

Comparing player to player I'd say yes (but you're exaggerating a bit).

Though saying that, Our past teams never were much superior (talent wise) compared to other teams in europe but we still managed to be better than most of those teams in europe.

We had our share of superstars in our teams (zidane, del piero, deschamps, baggio ....) but we still had "many decent" players that were not much talented but were hard working players that gave 110% in every game. Players like di livio, Tacchinardi, Torrichelli, Pessotto even Conte himself wasn't such a big talent.

Thats why i think that even with our current players we can start a winning cycle. Two additional signings in defence and the right coach with the right mentality can push us back to the top in a year or two. Thats possible in a club like Juve.....

OK, but i wasn't just talking about passing, brilliant through passes and stuff, overall as a player i don't think Zanetti gives that much less to the team than Xavi does. Sure, the last one is better player, but not by that much, Cristiano would give Xavi a good fight on the field. It's not like we are comparing Palladino to C.Ronaldo, but listening to you guys im starting to feel that we actually are.

I don't know how many Spurs games you've watched this season, but I've watched at least 15-20 and Luka has been their most dangerous man every time. Pretty much every decent attack they mustered, he was the organisator. Lennon was good, I've always liked that player, but he always seems to lack that finishing touch, be it an assist or goal. He's always penetrating, being dangerous but most of the time has a move too much in the end.
I've watched plenty of games for Spurs, and i really think that even though Modric has been one of their best players, i believe he still has more to give. This isn't the Modric we saw in the Euro's, and i am sure his performances there weren't a one off, as he obviously has the talent. Imo if played in the center he'd do much much better.

Lennon has always been a player that lacked the final touch, but ever since dislodging Bentley of the right wing position he has been steadily improving, he has improved his last touch drasitcally and was one of the best wingers in the league in the second half of the season.

It's a close call between him and Modric if you ask me, but Lennon just edges it for performances like the one against Man Utd.

Look at the video footage. Zanetti's long ball is A LOT better than Xavi's. Why do you think we play Zanetti every time we can?
I don't need to see footage, i watch the Calcio almost every week. I am not denying Zanetti is a good passer, especially his long balls, and the game against Lazio last year probably was the biggest testimony to that. But in terms of passing, whether long or short, Xavi is the better passer by two country miles. The two are not even comparable, you are losing your objectivity here.

Honestly, i don't believe anyone other than a Juve fan would compare the two in passing.

Fred, the others were making the same arguments as I was. I don't take kindly to your unnecessary and childish behaviour here.
Ok, i'm sorry.

But really the difference between you and the others was that, you compared Zanetti to Xavi in terms of passing. That imo is just way too far fetched to take seriously.

Well maybe it's a bit of an exaggeration to say that it's like Palladino and Ronaldo. But it is a silly comparison too, i mean the two aren't even close, neither as players and definitely not comparable in terms of passing ability. I feel silly just discussing the idea of Zanetti being comparable to Xavi as a player.

I really want to know if it's just Seven and Pitbull or do the other posters here feel the same?

I'm certainly interested to know the opinions of some of the more objective posters here(Alen, Boz, Vlatko, Red, Andy etc)

Maybe because Xavi plays in a much better team, and in more open (less defensive) league? I am not supporting any side of the argument, I just find it silly to compare two players, because each player has a different condition, but it's better if you compare two players of same team and of same role, Like Poulsen with Zanetti for example.

Well then i can say the same about Bentdner and DP right Snoop? It's the easy way out, they're in different teams and in different conditions, so it will be silly to compare the two players.

But no, i don't subscribe to that, DP is a much better player than Bentdner, and Xavi is a much better player than Zanetti. Xavi proved it in the CL and in the Euro's so his performances can't be attributed to the fact that he plays in a more open league.

Plus his talent and incredible football intelligence is there for everybody to see, whether he plays in a more open league is irrelevant here.

this thread turned to barcelona lovefest, fuck barcelona and xavi
Do you hear people saying Forza Barca or something? (other than Playa)

We're having a discussion about two players, one that plays for Barca and one that play's for Juve. Is it too much to ask for people to give credit where its due?

Seriously Seven, if given the choice between Xavi and Zanetti, you would choose Zanetti?

Both of them are great. What's the point of all these seriously?
