Milan wouldn't give Arsenal the space no matter what competition it happens to be. Adebayor is top of the charts in scoring in the Premiership, so I don't think we can place attribute the performance to the lack of a strike force. Milan is actually the side without goalscorers up top, something that has hurt them for a while now.

Milan always seem to get the better of English sides. They've been knocking Manure out of the competition for a couple years running, and now it seems like they'll take care of Arsenal at home. A draw is a good result for them considering the circumstances, and they didn't give Dial much around the box and through the center of the pitch.

Milan isn't vastly superior to the top English teams in terms of tactics and defending, but they still are superior IMO. They've been proving that for a while now in the Champions League.
I think it's really a matter of Arsenal playing tougher competition. With the exception of Celtic and Lyon, I don't think they would be allowed to play around in anyone's box in the CL. They certainly don't do it against to top clubs in the Prem. Adebayor is great when he can get out and run onto crosses or through balls but hes shit at finishing in front of goal. Ask Fred, he gripes about it constantly. As we all know most CL goals at this stage come against the run of play or by finishing in front of goal. Which is why Inzaghi is so great.* But given that I don't think there is much difference between Prem teams and Milan. Milan have been a little better in the past but I don't think the gap is as big as you made it to be in your first post. I think that was a little of that good ole Serie A bias. ;)

*Just wanted to throw in a little Pippo shout out.

Didn't say that, but I'm talking about the fans who think "English football is the best" and continue blasting Serie A without good reason. There are still idiots out there who think Serie A sides should be banned from Europe after the scandal and because of the stadium violence. One fool even stated that Serie A sides should have been banned from Europe for 3 years after killing that police office in Catania. So, by his logic, the English league should have been banned for 117 years from Europe.

I come across these wankers all the time on various football websites. Add in the wankstains I see on FSC, and you got yourself some good hate.
You gotta love 'em :lol2:

You can't say Liverpool is superior tactically and defensively to Milan though, over the years that is. That's my only point.
I don't know, Rafa made all the right moves in 2005. And we were lucky to not get to extra time last season as Pippo's ass burned us. I thought we did very well tactically, but were unable to execute in front of goal.

Easy solution, stop watching FSC.

Hardly. I've admitted time and time again that the Premiership is the better league at the moment. This is about Milan vs. English sides.

Just take a look at how Milan has defended against English sides over the years. Everybody and their mother said that Manure would run over Milan with shear attacking class in the past three years of matches, but the Rossoneri shut them down through smart tactics and fantastic defending. Milan did the same to Liverpool for about 180 minutes in the two matches they've played in the past few years. It's pretty obvious that Milan is certainly superior in terms of tactics and adapting to situations, which is something even former English managers admit Prem sides have trouble with while playing in Europe.

Easy solution to our problems with the American government - become a Canadian and relinquish our US citizenship. :melayyanandmessi:

Come on, Eazy.
Well it is an easy solution. Just watch Serie A stuff and don't tune in for Fox Soccer Phone In and the other dumb stuff. That is actually pretty easy.

English football fans are brainwashed by their media. They claim they are the best in the world while the Ronaldo's, Tevez's and Torres' waltz into the league, take the maximum cash they can from the club and stroll out the country with heavy pockets.

But the thing is, when all you watch is football, what other channels are you going to watch? Moreover, the media in this country is obviously biased, so are we not going to watch the news over here?

And besides, I like watching what the fools on those programs spout. It's just like watching Bill O'Reilly. The people who believe everything Nick Webster states and then goes off to spout his opinions to knowledgeable fans will just be laughed at anyway.

The only negative about this, though, is that Americans will always be said to know nothing about football.

Why are you still arguing that point? I said Milan have been a little better in past years than Prem teams. I said the difference wasn't as huge as you originally posted. And you can't say that Milan were tactically better in 2005 otherwise they would have won 3-0. Maybe so last year, but it was an even game decided by Pippo's buttocks.

As for the original question. Adebayor sucks in front of goal, those unfortunately are the chances he get against top teams. Milan is very good in defense no doubt, but I don't think he would have scored today against Inter, the Mancs, Valencia, or Roma.

The fans who state English football is the best give people like Greg and I material for a comedy routine.

Torres is pretty great. So don't hate, he's a Red as long as he wants to be.
