As quoted by them "Nakamura is an unstoppable GOD!"
I AM one of them...hence the BHOY part of my nomedeplume...

Celtics are great going forward, but defence is cr*p...

The major difference between the top, say, six leagues in Europe and the rest is the capabilities of the defences... not the forwards:agree:

Celtic are great to watch when they play football through their midfield, but their defenders are trained in the Scottish way of defending..."punt the bawl up ra park ar far as yeah kin son...that's yur job"...

Milan will look to the other teams as their main challenge...and this from a green blood Thim:D

I know I keep saying I'm under no illusions about my 2'nd favourite team, Roma. But until they get themselves a real killer up front like the incomparable Batistuta was, (& even that was only for the 1'st of his 2 seasons at Roma) they're only ever going to go "just so far" in either Europe or Serie A! In saying that, many people have forgotten just how well Roma played the 1'st leg against Man U at the Olimpico in last seasons' Champions League. If they had converted their superior possession of play into goals instead of missed chances they'd have possibly given Man U something to seriously think about for the 2'nd leg at Old Trafford instead of the humiliation they got...

It's too early to tell whether or not Man U have just got off to a bad start, but if their poor form persists, Roma will never have a better opportunity to salvage some lost pride...

I personally think Rosella Sensi probably blew chance to win CL by selling Chivu. Roma had an outstanding platform to build a side winning CL in forms of Mexes and Chivu, and I just cant believe they didnt offer Chivu the wage he demanded. From what I heard Craig Bellamy earns more money than Chivu. Ok Craig Bellamy might not be as bad as I think in EPL, but from what I have seen him from CL, he is just above mediocre forward who can run a bit, and he is not that quick anyway.

Nonetheless, Roma is still capable of reaching last four and Final IMO. They are a young team, and naturally their main players will improve without any significant improvement. Aquilani is real screamer of player IMO. His technical class is so evident, and I feel healthy Aquilani is superior player to Davide Pizzaro. De Rossi is in the process of becoming best CM in the world. Gerrard should watch out. And as for not having attacker. I actually believe having Totti as a striker is pretty good idea. Totti banged in more goals than anyone in Europe. . For me, Totti was quite easilty the Serie A's best player, even better than Kaka. But problem is what happens when their Il Captino goes absent through injury. Then I can see Roma reeling from not having proper striker in their team.

I think Vucinic is a talented player. He isnt as lethal as someone like Montella or Batistuta, but i do feel that he has the potential to score 15 plus goals a season and take a lot of pressure off Totti. If Vucinic does infact get enough chances, and he ends up scoring well,i think Roma would be an even better team than they were last season.Juan is a good signing too.Again,he is no Chivu, but if he adjusts to Italy,he'd be an assest to Roma.

CL: Draw applauded in peninsula

Inter boss Roberto Mancini played down a favourable Champions League draw, while Roma are itching for revenge against Manchester United.

The Nerazzurri can have few complaints after landing PSV, CSKA Moscow and Fenerbahce and will surely fancy their chances of beginning their bid to conquer Europe by topping the group.

“It was a good draw,” admitted Inter stopper Maco Materazzi. “They are good sides, but it is certainly better than facing Barcelona or Manchester United.

“We have problems with suspensions and injuries, but we shouldn’t moan. We should look to get through at all costs.”

The Matrix’s enthusiasm contrasted with boss Mancini’s caution as he insisted that no win could be taken for granted in this showpiece event.

“It’s a difficult draw as always,” the ex-Samp hitman maintained. “When you look at a tournament of quality sides like the Champions League, it is very hard to rank the sides in order of ability.”

The draw was less kind to the Roman representatives with Lazio set to take on Real Madrid, Werder Bremen and Olimpiakos, while Roma must exorcise their demons against a Manchester United side who beat them 7-1 last year.

“The lads have been carrying that defeat with them for a long time and to have the chance to bury that memory is a great incentive,” Giallorossi Coach Luciano Spalletti acknowledged.

“But the other sides are tough too. Dynamo Kiev have a strong attack with Serhiy Rebrov and other quality players and we will have to play out there when it is really cold.

"Sporting Lisbon are also a very decent side who show their true ability when they are at home.”

Holders Milan were grouped with Benfica, Celtic and Cristiano Lucarelli’s Shakhtar Donetsk, a draw which Vice-President Adriano Galliani believes bodes well.

“All I will say is that we have good memories of Benfica after two Finals we won there and Celtic are a good omen as every time we play them we end up getting to the Final,” he enthused.

Milan take on Sevilla in the Super Cup on Friday and will wear the No 16 as a mark of respect for Rojiblancos midfielder Antonio Puerta who died last weekend.

Milan should win this year. They are simply the best...

Yeah..

It's not fair how Merda got an easier group than us... I'd much rather have a weak PSV instead of an overconfident Celtic...

:rofl2:

Vlatko, what's your opinion about the penalty now? I mean, I posted the video and expect some kind of reaction.
I didn't realize you posted the video, sorry. The first penalty was debatable to say the least and it's the one that changed the course of the game in Werder's favour, there's no denying that. If refs would call those kinds of contacts in the box all the time, there would be 5,6 penalties per match minimum.

There's not much to say though, I don't hold any grudges, I think we decided the game for ourselves in the first leg where we failed to capitalise on what we had.

Your whole post was worth reading but I wanted to reply most to the above...
Selling Chivu was a piece of non-business! (I don't care how "sexist" a remark this is considered...when a woman is in charge, certain things become "personal!")

Aquilani & De Rossi still need time, but are indeed growing stars.

The original idea of Totti acting as primo punto with a fast midfield to rush forward in support was originally conceived as an emergency plan...& because the opposition found it hard to predict just where the next Roma attack was coming from, it worked. But when they came up against top quality opposition, it wasn't enough. The results proved that, & Roma need someone who can finish the goal scoring opportunities they create.

Couldnt have agreed more. I am not against woman boss, but I am sure heck of more male watch soccer than women, and plays the game, so it is natural that we know more. Selling Chivu was bad idea to put it madly. He would have been worth every cent he demanded with new contract.

Personally, I think Aquilani and De Rossi are both world class. Aquilani still needs to show he can perform consistently throught whole season, but he is someone who can score 10 goals from midfield IMO. And there was rumors about him moving Cagliari this summer. Rosella just dont get it does she?:D

I am not so sure on this point to be honest. They literally owned Inter last year, and more or less outplayed Milan in two ties in the league. I thought they were more impressive than Valencia but just didnt have enough luck. And of course, they knocked out heavily fancied Lyon side. Obviously there is Manchester United, but those 7-0 defeat isnt really representative of Roma IMO. Its one those days we all have, and ManUre caught young nervous team on a good day. I think real measure of how Roma progressed will likely to be their coming against ManUre. And I have a sneaking feeling they will take at least 4 points from those two ties.
