Personally, I think those who wish the worst for every other Italian club are quite imbecilic, as they wish to play in leagues that have zero competition. Juventus tradition has been developed in Serie A... one of the top leagues in the world; the top league in the world in the 90's and one of the best in all the other decades. Now Serie A has slipped far behind the EPL and La Liga and with all our Italian competition losing this cannot be good for the rest of the league. Juventus has won Scudetti against some of the top sides in the world in a league which was considered the best... now there is nothing more prestigious than winning a title in a league that is considered the best.

But perhaps you don't understand this notion and would rather play in China or Estonia where we would win every league trophy in our existence and be known as a lesser club than Lyon in the scheme of things... that really is wonderful logic and I can't help but feel you wish the existence of Juventus would be based upon league titles without any respect for the league in which we reside. A league title in a shitty league means nothing for a club such as Juventus. It's essentially like we are settling for the Intertoto instead of the European Cup... what great support by our fans.

People here may hate Inter, Roma and Milan, but these clubs are our rivals and they have bearing over our season. If we beat a formidable Milan side to the Scudetto that is more plaudits on our side and I'm more proud of us for completing such a task. Our domestic competition is what helps us prepare for the European competition... the Champions League... something we all dream of. But if we have shitty sides that can only manage a 7-1 loss against a team like manchester united we will have no decent competition to improve against and will languish against the other sides from better leagues. Therefore a fan of club shouldn't be rooting on the decline of the league their club resides in and rather respect the state of the league because tradition, honor and acheivements in the world's best league is what this club is based upon.

Save the speech.

Carlo Ancelotti believes Milan can progress against Bayern Munich despite the fact that they drew the first leg of their Champions League tie 2-2 at home. The coach spoke to the waiting press before leaving for Munich and he said: 'We are really motivated for this game and we feel we can do well. When it comes to the knockout stages there is a particular tension but we are very optimistic. Of course, playing Bayern will not be easy but we have what it takes to repeat what we did in the first leg. We have been training well and we won't treat this like an away match but go there to play our own game. Milan always do well in this type of game.'

'How will we play? Definitely to attack no matter who plays. I believe that Milan have that something extra compared to our opponents, speed for example as well as skill. The only thing I am concerned about is Filippo Inzaghi's fitness. He still has some slight pain but he will train today again. It is not improving, we will have a better look at the situation today. The referee has really great experience and I believe he will definitely do well.'

The Rossoneri defeated Empoli at the weekend, which also left Ancelotti in fine confidence and he added: 'That result has helped us prepare well for what is a difficult but not impossible challenge. We are relaxed and in good shape. I can't make any predictions on the final score but I am optimistic in the knowledge that our team will give it everything to get through.'

No Need To Rush

Paolo Maldini spoke in a press conference held on the eve of the big Bayern Munich-Milan Champions League quarter-final. The captain said: ‘Bayern Munich are a very solid team and are physically strong. They are following the style of play they have always had over the years. This Bayern side are similar to last year’s, both in play and in their formulation. Our hope lies in doing the job that lies ahead of us. Looking at the first leg you can see that the opportunity is there. It’s open and nothing is yet sealed.’

It was a strange moment for Maldini when he was asked how he felt about the possibility that tomorrow’s game could be his last in the Champions League: ‘I have gave my all here for 20 years. I am used to thinking positively, therefore I will not walk on the field thinking that this could be my last Champions League game. Even though, if you think about it, this thought could give me even more energy.’

The captain confirmed that the Rossoneri squad left for Munich with just the right conviction: ‘We came here saying to each other that we really believe we can win. The result of the first leg penalises us, but the game is still to be played. We deserved to arrive here with a certain advantage, but instead Bayern have the advantage. We must accept the result from the field because if you make mistakes you pay for them, especially at this level. I absolutely do not think that the German’s advantage damages our possibility of qualifying.’

When asked why he is so serious, the captain responded: ‘I am a serious guy, but I am not an introvert. Our dressing room is serious, but there is also a great feeling there and it is fun.’ Before closing the press conference, Maldini outlined the path Milan will have to follow tomorrow night to get through: ‘We must not put ourselves in danger because the game can be won even in the final minutes. This is why it will be fundamental to not concede a goal and we must not leave them open for the counterattack.’

Carlo Ancelotti also spoke in the pre-game press conference ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League quarter-final against Bayern Munich: ‘I think that Pippo Inzaghi will be available. He has some problems. However, if he plays then that means he is doing well. There was a lot of talk about his condition as a player, of his future and of the fact that up until now he hasn’t always played. They speak about the goals he scored in the Champions League and… a certain someone has also scored against Bayern Munich. This is what counts.’

The coach then focused on Bayern Munich: ‘At home, they are a less inhibited side. What happened in the past doesn’t count, now is all that really counts. What counts is how the sides arrive at this game. We will have to play with confidence, being secure in our game and our possibilities in order to win.’

Hope the boys can do me proud tonight even if we lose i hope we go down fighting not just rolling over and dying like Roma did last night!

Thats not going to happen he says he wants to become a legend in Milan's history like Maldini has and Baresi also he also has a contract to respect so how are they going to get him? :)
Dont be naive, many things could tempt him away like a woman or a shite load of cash. One thing im certain of is that he wont join madrid.

Imo we needed Roma to do well last night and Milan to win today(which i doubt). These wins(for Italian clubs) can indirectly aid Juve, coz next season we are only playing these teams. If these teams are not among the best ;it will be very difficult, if not impossible, to lure players like Huntelar, Quaresma or Ribery to Juve. We will also struggle to keep our present stars, Trez, Camo, Buffon to name a few.
