This is best thing I've red on this forum since I don't know when. You're tottaly right. When we lose Inter, Milan and Roma fans are mako jokes about us...

but the point is that with the exception of inter is that they represent the country and the league and if they put on displays like roma's. fans will only think of how bad italy are as a footballing nation especially after last summer

Losing 6-1 with the team Roma has means you fucked up as a coach. Sure 2-0 or 3-0 are acceptable, but six goals... Spalletti fucked up bigtime IMO.
It's a question of mental strength, too. I mean, what can a coach do if his team gives up after conceeding two or three goals. Not much, especially if there still a lot of time until the half-time break. And, oops, your opponent scores the fourth, it is all over. How can you motivate the team now? Forget it if you're not Lippi or a similar coach legend.

Spalletti should know English teams get at you the first 20 minutes. It's his job to prevent they do. Seeing it was 3-0 after 20 minutes, Spalletti fucked up. It's that simple. Go coach a Serie D side, man.

But Roma really had no business being in the quarterfinals. They were way over their heads there. I'm sorry...
They beat Lyon fair and square and beat Manure at home... so yes they did indeed have business in the quarterfinals.

I can't wait to see Ronaldo get injured.
