yeah cool cuz 2-0 .. why you have not talk about (3-0) last year !!

or ur waiting for nou camp !! ?
Why should I talk about last season, I prefer to live in the present, not in the past. This season Barca are getting owned, once from the right then from the left and I am enjoying that. Actually, I am enjoying most Barca fans.

My words, I should watch my mout next time I talk about "Dinho". He was utter crap for the majority of the match then "boom" out of nowhere he comes up with two fantastic skills to change the game. First one was simply amazing in the way he brought down impossible ball with his chest down right at his feat and puts in a splendid pass. And the as for goal-itself - I am speechless. I reckon they are about 4 or 5 players in circulation probably would have the vision, technical ability and coolness to thread in the ball as he did.

And I got to give the credit to young Lionel Messi. He completely owned A. Cole whole night. He was simply far too skillful and there is no way Cole would outmuscle him with his physique. Furthermore that meant Cole couldnt maurade forward as he usually do and provide that width down the flanks. However, I thought Chelsea made up their inferiority down the flanks with some touch muscular plays down the middle. F. Lampard and Essien dominated the midfield exchanges whole night, and Motta had a torid game both mental and technical aspects.

Lastly, Barca would absolutely rue the fact that they gave away possession far too easily towards the end. They had a simple task of keeping possession and run down the clock, but being Barca they were brave and took one far too many risks at the end. I have a suspicion that Jose might deliberately loose to Werder. Must win case for Barca now.

Good summary Jun.
Barca was strongest on the wings but Chelsea has such a strong central midfield, Ballack, lampard and Essien, it works for them.
match was ok, ref was awfull.
Result was fair but I would have preferred Drogba not to score, barca has some work to do now, and they won't win easily from Werder, that team is doing great, has confidence while at barca, it might be different after yesterday.
Maybe it was better if Rijkaerd brought on a defensive player instead of Guly when Gudjohnsson fell out, they were already leading so why brig in an attacking player?
And then why not bring in Saviola instead of Guily, it is obvious that Messi isn't a striekr, he belongs on the wing.
Strange choice IMO.

spot on they should know by now, u can't just do stupid mistakes in the back and midfield like that. Both goals were caused by mistakes like the ones deco, zambro did.

I disagree with your assessment of Messi. It is true that currently he is the only threatening Barcelona player which answers why their performances are so bad - Ronaldinho (missing the last six months), Gudjohnsen (shouldn't be in the team and his injury will be a blessing), Deco (how long before he is finally moved on?) and Xavi (still feeling the effects of his injury). Add to that Rijkaard strangely opting for Motta as he seemed to think it would be a fight against Chelsea?

Naturally, there was no cohesion or build-up in their play. That wasn't aided by the fact that they led the match too quickly on both occasions; scoring so early from poor defending and then later re-taking the lead so quickly. Barcelona thought it would be good enough for the win breaching Chelsea twice and carving out only another couple of attacking moves. In fairness Chelsea with their more direct style posed more threat all match.

Back to Messi he had a poor second half and Ashley Cole was probably one of the catalysts for Chelsea's fightback. At first it seemed Messi wasn't tracking back Cole as he pushed forward and combined with Lampard to create chances. Then when Edmilson entered his right-to-left balls to Ronaldinho meant this time Messi was isolated on the other flank like the Brazilian had been for the majority of the first half when Messi caused the problems.

I still find it hard to understand why Barcelona are keeping their wide players so far wide especially with a poor midfield input. It also explains why Zambrotta looks completely lost in the Barca system. If Rijkaard had free choice I have no doubt he would re-install Oleguer.

it was very strange choosing motta, who for me is just a very average players who adds nothing to a team of quality like Barcelona. He should've went with marquez there and thuram partnering puyol at the back.

Anyway abt the cohesian of barcelona, we saw that more in the first half(the Xavi semi one on one against Hilario was created by wonderful build up where they just carved the chelsea midfield) and not in the 2nd they simply could'nt due to the pressure of the chelsea players and their push forward. But they held and it took a mistake for chelsea to score(how many times have we said that abt chelsea)

Abt messi, i think he just gave A.Cole a runaround, gave him such a hard time for 90mins. But Mourinho was smart and when he saw cole could'nt defend he thought he should be just left for makelele and cole should exploit the space behind messi.
