Celtic - Barcelona is gonna be great. I'll see it on the TV. :D
I think these two teams are the most friendly in European football. Barca is the most popular foreign team in Glasgow as far as I know. Lots of Celtic fans support Barcelona.

    I'm gonna be there...HHEEYYHHAAHH.

I was at the game last year and it was one of the best nights I have ever experience in terms of football. This time around Barca are stronger, and Celtic are without Henrik Larsson, so the betting money is on Barca. I don't really mind what the score is as long as Celtic put on a good performance....no shame in losing to Barca.

You would not believe the number of Celtic supporters who are wearing Barca tops...all with number 17 on the back...and then when Sav goes to Monaco, Henke gets number 7...tough deal...but yah gotta laugh:dontcare:

How many people here believe this could be the best Champions League ever...when you think that Juve and Milan 'only' made pot two, it makes you wonder just how good the opposition is this year...roll on the power matches

I think it will all depend on the quality of teams in second and third round.

The more grands there are in a competition- more interesting it will be.

How does Arsenal - Milan, or Juventus - Real sounds?

    Mancio sticks with Vieri-ano
    Monday 13 September, 2004

Christian Vieri and Adriano are set to continue their striking partnership for Inter against Werder Bremen.

The two teams meet in the Champions’ League on Tuesday and boss Roberto Mancini has hinted that the two men will start the game after their display at Chievo.

"I will have a choice from four strikers," said the tactician, as doubts remain over whether the two stars can co-exist.

"I thought they combined relatively well on Saturday and Vieri was unfortunate with his chances. I don’t have a problem in picking them again."

Mancio is set to keep faith with the majority of the side who drew 2-2 at Chievo but Ivan Cordoba will replace Sinisa Mihajlovic in defence.

"I was happy with the performance of a number of my players on Saturday," continued Mancio.

"Dejan Stankovic did well. Goalkeeper Francesco Toldo? I can wait for better performances from him."

The tactician also passed judgement on tomorrow’s opponents at the San Siro. "The Germans are a tough side," he added.

"They are well balanced and strong physically. They are dangerous when going forward but my Inter should have no fears."

Edgar Davids is set to make his European Cup debut for the Nerazzurri and is promising to deliver.

"I have really missed the Champions’ League," stated the former Juventus player. "We will definitely do better against Werder than we did at Chievo.

"We struggled in the last game because we had very little time to prepare due to the international matches."

Inter probable: Toldo; J Zanetti, Cordoba, Materazzi, Favalli; Ze Maria, Veron, Davids, Stankovic; Vieri, Adriano

    Pirlo back for Milan
    Monday 13 September, 2004

Andrea Pirlo will be recalled to the Milan side for the Champions’ League tie at Shakthar Donetsk.

The midfielder was rested for the Livorno tie at the weekend but will return to the teamsheet for Tuesday’s clash.

"I’ve already decided on my team," said boss Carlo Ancelotti. "Andriy Shevchenko, Jon Tomasson and Kaka will be in attack.

"While the midfield will consist of Pirlo, Gennaro Gattuso and Clarence Seedorf. I just need to check on the fitness of Marcos Cafu and Jaap Stam ahead of the game."

The Rossoneri started the new campaign with a difficult 2-2 draw against Livorno and Ancelotti fears the Ukrainian test.

"We need to be wide awake because they are a very rapid and dynamic side, especially in midfield. They are also unbeaten in their championship," he warned.

Ancelotti was also concerned about certain aspects of his side’s start to the campaign. "We are having trouble with dead ball situations but that can be resolved," he added.

One player who is particularly looking forward to the game is Ukrainian international Shevchenko.

"This is the first time that I’m playing in my homeland with the Milan shirt and I’m not sure how I will feel," he stated.

"I think it will be a great game and they will be ready to give their very best against us. But we are planning to win the Champions’ League this season."

Milan probable: Dida; Cafu, Nesta, Stam, Maldini; Gattuso, Pirlo, Seedorf; Kaka; Tomasson, Shevchenko
