Rijkaard, Txiki To Pronounce Eto'o Verdict Around Noon
Barcelona coach Frank Rijkaard and director of sport Txiki Begiristain will meet to resolve the Eto'o crisis in the morning, and will announce their verdict around noon.
President Joan Laporta has charged Rijkaard and Txiki with solving the crisis surrounding Samuel Etoo's recent comments, in which the forward called Frank Rijkaard a "bad person" for revealing that he had refused to play.
He also hit out at Ronaldinho, suggesting that those who asked him to think about the team first should question themselves first.
Sources within the club have since confirmed that the president will not take any action on the matter, despite Eto'o also suggesting that the problems were a manifestation of the continuing battle between Laporta and former vice-president Sandro Rosell.
The team return to train this morning, which also means that Eto'o will meet his teammates for the first time since having made those declarations. The training grounds are expected to be brimming with media presence, in the hope of snapping up something 'interesting'.
Rijkaard and Txiki will speak with the forward in private, following which a decision will be made. There is speculation that Eto'o could be left out of the squad for Sunday's game against Valencia, as a result of his abrasive comments.
However, knowing the Cameroon international, there are also those who expect a very repentant person come morning, and one who would admit that he let anxiousness get the better of him and lost the plot.
