No idea. :D

All I know about him is that he was in the Celtic team that won the European Cup and that lost the 1970 Scottish Cup Final to Aberdeen.

Ah, good old Leeds, dirty bastards that they are.

Thought Dave Jones sounded like a tit in the interview after.

He wanted to focus on the songs during the game instead of the incident with Kirkland.

What's wrong with Leeds fans calling Jones a paedo and the Wednesday fans mocking Leeds about being killed by Turks?

All just harmless good fun.

Also, I don't understand the actions of the fan.

Once you're on the pitch, surely you either celebrate right in front of Kirkland or you punch him in the face.

What's the point of giving him a little shove?

Classic Yorkshire rivalry at it's best and worst. The fan who shoved Kirkland is an absolute idiot, obviously, but I see no reason why one should slag off the entire club, although the saying "Dirty Leeds" have been around since the 70s. Sheffield Wednesday fans singing about the two Leeds supporters who got stabbed to death in Istanbul in the 90s was over the line, imo, because such songs entail the meaning of "it could've been one of you, we'd still be singing and cheering about it". That's bound to stir up some feelings of anger. It's like singing Heysel-songs towards Juve fans or Airplane-songs towards fans of Manchester United. However, I'm not condoning the actions of that stupid Leeds fan, who should be banned from attending games.

Leeds' track record means that I see no reason not to tar all their fans with the same brush.

And I don't see the harm in signing 'offensive' songs to wind up the opposition.

We all agree,
The Ibrox disaster was magic,
Sixty-six died,
Too many survived,
At the Ibrox Park disaster.

:hi:

I just don't understand why people let these things bother them.

These songs would disappear within a few years if they didn't have the desired effect on opposition fans.

Feelings...values....memories....

These songs would disappear within a few years if they didn't have the desired effect on opposition fans.
It's just not that simple.

Me and you might be good at not taking that stuff to heart, but you can't say that it's not understandable that some will.
