"We are looking to bring one more midfielder in of course, and maybe one defender as well because we still feel we are short in some positions."

- ًWenger

The thing is, he's usually not good on his promises, so one should not take his statements that seriously. Also, even if we do believe him, we also desperately need another striker, a quality one that is capable of scoring goals, i really hope he is not planning to use Podolski there permanently, i really think Wenger has an eye for talent, and i'm sure with time he could make Podolski into a top class forward, like he did with Van Persie(who was never a striker, per say), but we need immediate results, i've had enough of Wenger's fiddling.

I still wonder why you rate Podolski.

Balotelli's IQ >> Podolski's football intelligence.
I think he's an underachiever to be honest. I certainly don't agree he has a low IQ, his main problem for me, is he doesn't have a clear position, you can't really pigeon hole him to a certain position. He looks like he's best utilized as a second striker playing off the main striker(but we don't have that role), he's not fast enough or technical enough to be a winger, and he certainly does not have the positional sense and off the ball movement a main striker needs.

I think he's a good addition, and i'm sure he's a more productive player than both Gervinho and Theo to be honest. I just hope we do not plan to play him as the main striker all the time(which is highly likely). Not only because we need immediate results, and can't be arsed to develop players in new positions, but also because i hate seeing Gervinho and Theo in the pitch together. Now those two are the epitome of low IQ footballers.

oops :p

I big to differ, Podolski is the right player for a relegation candidate who play on the counter like Cologne.

He did well for Germany, you can't deny that, his stats are better than most other proven players in the Prem. But I haven't seen him perform on club level during his career.

Neither have I, as i'm not a follower of the Bundesliga to be honest, i'm judging him on what i've seen him display in the German NT, i'm judging his abilities and attributes more so than i'm doing his form, i'll take people's word for it, when it comes to his form, and most people who watch the Bundesliga say that he didn't do too well at Bayern.
