Agree with the defensive part, but i don't think he's as much as scoring threat playing behind the stiker as playing on the flank, also he'll have much harder time playing with his back to the goal in the so often crowded MF, rather him catching it on the wing and taking one to two defenders which he can easily beat. I think his best position is similar to Ronaldo in Madrid.
Don't get me wrong, he's also very comfortable playing on the left, but he does also play well with his back to goal mind you, the turn he did on the defender for Chelsea's first goal, that was so characteristic of him.
