- RVP has had one season so far in his career that put him in the list of "great players" out there and he waited till 28 yo for that. What that tells me is that he is a lot more likely to be a 1-season wonder, a pretend great player than a genuine one.
So Arsenal sells him for 25+ mil and gets rid of a monstrous salary at the same time. Considering his injury history and being 29 already, I'd say they did the right thing. The issue for them would be whether they would find a way to replace RVP properly and invest the money in the right player(s) as opposed to having lost him in the first place.
Wouldn't worry about Arsenal too much now ... would be a lot more intrigued by how Fergie is planning to play RVP, Rooney, Kagawa, Nani, Young/Valencia w/o unbalancing the team ... and to think he was going for Lucas too
