Harder to take risks when every signing really matters.

Once you've established a solid base (which Juve are well on their way to doing this summer) you can start taking more risks on transfers.
One risk a year shouldn't hurt though. You should always be trying to invest in one scouted talent...ala Appelt brothers, etc. They weren't expensive but in two years time they could be great additions, if not well then we should have more signed within those 2 years.

I hate to use Hamsik, Pastore, Sanchez, etc as examples again...but surely it couldn't hurt to sign these kinds of promising youngsters every couple season, no?

I understand building a solid base and agree with it, but instead of spending 12m on Martinez last year we could have bought 2-3 really promising youngsters for that price without jeopardizing the base.

Youngsters are a different case. There should always be space to go for a couple of them per season.

I mean signing Robben a few years ago, which would have cost 20m and big wages, was a risk I could perfectly understand Juve not taking.

Hustini, how does it feel seeing your two dream signings Dzeko and Aguero playing together in City? I bet you hate City don't you? :D

If this was, I don't know, about 7 years ago or something like that and we finished 7th, I bet we've would have done everything for Sanchez to be here. These days though the smaller Italian clubs send those guys away to foreign teams.
