it can happen to anyone at any time - in a way he was very lucky that this happened at the game where there was medical personnel to attend to him on the spot; had this happened at his home or some other place, he wouldn't have made it most likely.

anyways, great to hear he is stable now

These things just appear from nowhere and could happen to anyone with the same condition. If he has an enlarged heart or some kind of underlying condition it can appear at any time during exertion.
