True, and there was lost of position changes in the first half. Things looked a little bit better on the second when Malouda and Cole played on the same side line.

Is Kalou injured ?

True, and they lacked that creative force that Lampard brings too. Chelsea's biggest problem this season, is their lack of depth. A few injuries could bring them down, they need to be quite lucky with injuries, or build a solid lead so that when injuries come, they can afford to lose points.

without being disrespectful to Chelsea but playing Essien and Mikel in the same team is asking for trouble,sure it helps when Lampard is there and this allows him the free role to break into the box but when he is not there there is a distinct lack of creativity. couple this with the fact they were missing Drogba so getting the ball wide and whipping it in was completely ineffective. Chelsea with a fully fit starting 11 are formidable, but they do not have the strength in depth to cover for injuries to key players and it appears they have no plan B

You're right about Essien and Mikel Rob. But what choice do they really have? Its not like they have anyone else to play. I'm surprised they didn't try to bring in an offensive central midfielder who can pass the ball. They desperately need Lampard to stay fit at all times now.

Playing away against tough teams that play 11 men behind the ball, Chelsea will struggle without Lampard in midfield.

Lucky for them United's team is a mess this season.

The only position that lack hard is the Center Back. Not that Ivanovic isn't doing bad, but still.

None of those players are midfielders Yamen. They play with 3 central midfielders, and they only have 4 established ones. Mikel, Essien, Lampard and Ramires. Imagine if they got two players injured, they'll have to rely on the talented but young and still inexperienced McEachren.

:tup: it is kind of surprising that they let ballack and Deco leave and never got even one attack minded Cm player in,if there is one area of weakness in this Chelsea team it is when Lampard gets injured,that and the fact that they play with the ball out wide and have no-one capable of leading the line when Drogba is out
