You guys are believing in your own hype. The Serie A is no better than the Liga or the EPL.

If you guys stuck to it being more entertaining to watch, then at least that would be understandable. Personally i believe the Liga is a stronger league than the Serie A, the top 7-8 teams at least are better than their equivalents in the Serie A. But i don't enjoy the Liga very much other than Real and Barcelona, i would watch 7-8 teams from the Serie A though. Which further illustrates my point that the argument that the Serie A is more entertaining is understandable, but that its better? Bullshit.

I think the overly defensive style in general has led to this problem as well as the 1-0, 0-0 hold on mentality.

Serie A > La Liga > Bundesliga > Ligue 1 > Eredivisie

When it comes to my enjoyment I pick Serie A any day of the week. I think they use brain much more in Italy than England, though.

Villareal, Athletico Madrid would both beat the likes of Sampdoria, Napoli, Genoa any day of the week man.

Getafe and Bilbao aren't worse than Parma, Udinese and the likes too.

Was I arsed, I'd rank thoe 18 teams out of 10 and see what it adds up to in order to illustrate a point but suffice to say I believe it is blatantly obvious that Serie A overall is stronger but to each his own.

The thing that Serie A has going for it, is that its lower tier teams play some organized and tactically sound football. Unlike their Spanish and English counterparts. But i believe the strength of a league is in its top 10 teams, not its bottom ones.

But La Liga is the league that in the last 6-7 years gave (by far) the highest number of different teams that left mark in european competitions. From Barca, Sevilla, La Coruna, Atletico, Villarreal, Valencia, Alaves (except Real Madrid ).

Right now Real and Barca are killing the rest by buying everything, but still, 2 teams can't make you leaders in UEFA standings (they were leaders until very recently, when EPL took over and still has a minor advantage).

They do play bad defense in the league, but it's their style. In Europe you rarely see that bad defense and Spanish teams are traditionally the most successful in the last 5-10 years.

It does consist of 20 teams, but there is no way of judging if the lower tier teams are stronger here or there. Unless the top 10, who usually at some point have played European football. i'm not saying European football is the only way to judge how good a team is, it is however an imortant indicator of how a team compares to others from different leagues.

Ya, English teams don't take it that seriously too if you're going by that logic. Don't you remember O'Neil playing a second fiddle team two seasons ago(when Villa was fourth) and then getting eliminated because of it.

Apart from Fulham who played their first team in the EL and their reserves in the PL, but they do well in the CL so it doesn't matter really.

Last year Genoa gave their best, but both Valencia and Lille were stronger in the groups. Lazio gave their best, but Villarreal were better and took the 2nd place. I don't think Juve let Fulham beat them, nor did Roma let Panathinaikos beat them.

There were times where the Italian teams were indeed not taking the competition seriously, but it's not been the case in the last 2 years and the serie A teams still failed.
