Fred, are you happy Arsenal "cashed in" on Eduardo?
Not when you put it that way. I really liked the guy, he's a real professional and the fact that he came back from that horrific injury shows his mental strength too. Its just too bad that he was never the same player after the injury. He's obviously a nice guy, and he loved the club and was equally loved by the players, fans and coaches alike. He's had nothing but nice words for the club after he signed for Shakhtar

Fact of the matter though is, he wouldn't have played if he stayed with us. So i think him moving to Shakhtar was best for all parties.

Normally i don't care much for players that leave Arsenal, except in rare cases(Henry, Pires, Vieira), but Eduardo is a player that i like very much and i will try and follow his progress as much as i can. I honestly and sincerely wish him all the best, and i'm going to be a Croatia fanboy for Eduardo too :D

I'm sure Arsenal fans will never forget him :)

Not necessarily good business for Arsenal, which is odd, I still rate Eduardo personally and I think Wenger might regret letting him go when Van Persie gets injured and the SambaCroat is banging them in.

Did you see him play last season?

He was given enough opportunities, i'm sad to say he was absolutely terrible. I think he was our worst offensive player last season, and as much as i like him, i dreaded seeing him on the pitch last season.

You might be referring to the Eduardo pre-injury. That Eduardo was really good, and he was just starting to adapt, and Wenger had just started playing him in his preferred position, when that terrible injury came along.

I'm referring to the player himself, not a particular point of time. Sometimes yo need t give a player a few seasons to get back after a serious injury.
I hope that i'm wrong here, but it doesn't look like Eduardo is getting back to form anytime soon. He's lost his pace, he's lost his sharpness, and not only that, he used to be our best finisher pre injury, but he has been a terrible finisher this season, i kid you not when i tell you that he's missed at least on 5 ocassions from clear cut chances in the 6 yard box or close to it.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see, I thin Bilic is right when he talks about Eddy still having 'it'.

He's no Del Piero but I don't see a similar comeback as out of the question, more to the point Van Persie, Arshavin and Bender and Chamakh, surely you aren't thrilled wit that?

We only play with one striker, i'm content with Van Persie, Chamakh and Bendtner playing for that one position. We have a lot more pressing matters. We still need another centerback, we desperately need a keeper, we also need another midfielder. But i think our strikers are good enough(if they stay fit, and at Arsenal thats a big if)

Edit: Double post.

I'm not very fond of Arshavin. Not as a player of course, he's one of our best players, but for some reason i just don't like him.

The reported price for Kolarov is £14.1 million. If my BP to EUR converter is correct, that's 16.8 million eur. So, around 17m euro.

By this year's market standards that's an acceptable price even if it does look too high for a fullback.

not to mention how hard it is to find good fullbacks
