I don't want Benitez anywhere near Juventus so I am glad we dodged the bullet. Don't get me wrong he could be very sucesful at Inter but he is one of the last managers I would trust to build a team. Fact is he won the Champions league with Houllier's team, and from that season forward Liverpool was going backwards despite spending more then United and Chelsea.

We finished 5th in the league with "Houllier's team". A team that consisted of Xabia Alonso and Luis Garcia, Houlier's players right?

Until this season, Rafa hadn't finished less that 4th after winning the Champion's League. We made another Champion's League final as well as Semis and Quaters in addition to winning the FA Cup. Rafa has progressed the club forward without a doubt, though this season our lack of depth was shown as many of our first teamers were out with injury for extended periods of time. Rafa's a great manager, his statistics don't lie. The problem is in the owners.

Names being mentioned for the Liverpool job.

Martin O'Neill, Roy Hodgeson, Kenny Dalglish, Guus Hiddink, Klinsmann, Mark Hughes, Alex McLeish, Pellegrini and Louis Van Gaal.
Here's another one:

Ciro Blazevic
But Hiddink? That's nonsense.

When we are stuck with Del Neri, there isn't anything to be happy about here.
We're more likely to have Kenny manage the team until the club is sold. He's successful, a face of the club, and a legend. The only question is whether or not he wants it.

Hodgeson would be perfect for Liverpool, he is an experienced good manager who has a lot of international and league experience. He would probably get the best from Gerrard, who I've heard sugested to the board to fire Benitez.

Some Chinese guy whose name I don't know, owns a club where Blazevic is coach, and he's one of the candidates to buy Pool. If it goes through, the coach of all coaches will be your next manager. In his last interview Ciro said; "what I've done here in China, 3 Mourinhos wouldn't be able to achieve". :D

Words can not express the awesomeness which would be to see that guy coach a big club like Liverpool. :D He's sort of an icon here, both in a positive and negative way.

So he didn't quit when we had an offer but when merda came looking for him he made Pool fire him (I know it was a mutual agreement but still he'll have his compensation). Fuck this shit.

He actually waited to see what his transfer budget was going to be. Since he got no guarantees he opted for a mutual consent. So he departs with 6 million in his pocket. Juve should have been patient, 1 month wouldn't have made a difference.

Seriously, if your rafa and just left Liverpool and you have Inter and Juve staring in your face you know your going to choose Inters roster.

It probably depends on who approaches you first and what the offers are. Either way it's got nothing to do with Rafa. Just bad luck for Juve.

You are right that their was no rush in hiring anyone. At the same time most likely the same result would have happend for Juve.

Nonetheless, lets hope the transfer market brings some positive results

Liverpool are in a fucked up situation indeed. However I love it. No offense to you Aaron you're a cool guy. I just dislike the scousers in general.

I was reading a football book called Soccernomics I think and the author wrote a chapter on how it's best to wait as long as possible for your ideal manager instead of taking a stop-gap coach (of course this seems like common sense but it's rarely done). This happened with Wenger, Ferguson and some others and I couldn't help but think about this constantly during the Benitez situation. Now we have Del Neri.

I hope he does well but man..

To be fair Benitez isn't going to surpass Mou at Inter so I'm happy :)

Mark Hughes'll do fine at Liverpool though :seven:
More likely we'll have Kenny in a short-term position until the sale is settled and new owners are in.

Mark Hughes can sod off.

Why not Pellegrini to liverpool ? He could be a great option for them...
I think he'd be great, but he's probably an expense we'll avoid until ownership is settled.
