Am I to take this as a joke, or just assume you don't have a clue?
Take it as you want. Without Sir Alex they would all be climbing on trees in HT.

Players like Fletcher and O'Shea are very underrated but I highly doubt they would perform anywhere near what they are doing now under a different manager.

On paper, Man Utd's starting XI isn't as good as Man City's or Chelsea's.
Considering he was talking about the past 10-11 years and not this year, which would assume he's talking about...the last 10-11 years.

And really, what exactly about the starting 11 isn't good? Erm? Probably the best 2 defenders in the league? Arguably the best goalkeeper? Arguably the 2 best strikers in the league? And Chicharito who is gonna be a star?

The only thing City or Chelsea have over United is a Midfield, and Giggs has been better than any Chelsea or City player this season.

And if Football was actually about 11 players only, that argument would actually mean something, but its not, its about a squad of players.

Thats been the case throughout history where some players have overperformed because of either the man they play for or the club they play for.

Although, I don't even get the point of that argument, what does it even matter how they'd perform under a different manager? They perform under this manager and thats all that matters.

I am not saying otherwise. I said they are not as good players on paper as Ivanovic, Bosingwa or Essien.
If it wasn't for Sir Alex, Rooney would be jailmate with Mario Balotelli.

The current United team and it's not as good as Chelsea's or City's. I doubt any other manager would get that much of of such a poor team.

Ivanovic and Bosingwa are top players? Vidic, Rio and Evra are probably the best in the EPL in their positions, the other players in defence aren't as good but are mostly young players who are either in their first real season (Rafael, Smalling) or don't have the opportunities to play many games in a row (Evans).

I fail to see how you can say they were worse?

I personally don't rate many of Chelsea's squad at all, their best player by far is Essien when he's on form, but bar their first team there squad is very weak.

And City is just a carbon copy of Chelsea back in 2005/2006 when they could of fielded 2 PL team, they'll never keep all those players happy and sooner or later sell off a few of them.

I'm happy with the Man Utd squad, obviously we need some new players in, and its one of the weakest squad's that United have had in years, but its by no means worse than Chelsea or City, hence why we're first.

It's only really United's midfield which is lacking.

This Utd team would be nowhere in years gone by.

It just goes to show that the EPL is worse than it was a few years ago that they are clear at the top.

No-one is commenting on what this Utd team can become, but guys like Rafael and Smalling are currently not that good right now.

Evans is just plain mediocre.
