In one way when you're paying so much money for your cable provider you are helping the league over pay players. I stopped my subscription with the package that provides the EPL last year because of that.
I've always been an illegal EPL viewer :D

Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure has become the first player to break through the £200,000–a-week barrier.
Toure completed a £24 million move from Barcelona last week and the News of the World claims he has signed a five-year deal worth £55.6 million.

The Ivory Coast international is believed to be earning an initial £185,000-a-week, but that will increase to £221,000 when the government’s 50 per cent tax bracket comes into force.

The report suggests Toure will also get an image rights payment of £1.65 million-a-year, plus an additional £823,000 and £412,000 bonus each time City qualifies or wins the Champions League respectively.

Did anyone read the story today where Torres' agent said none of the quotes posted the day before were said by him?

Oh summertime in Liverpool.

Dan Gosling is available on a free transfer today after leaving Everton because of an administrative error in his contract. Apparently they had agreed a verbal contract but never put the paperwork through to the FA. He has issued an ultimatum demanding first team football and if he doesn't get it Everton will lose him for no fee.
