Liverpool are in similar position that Juventus were in after last season. They are a risk to take over now, so not many top managers will take that risk, despite Pool's big name. Especially not while the season is running. There is a bigger chance to fail than to succeed with this Liverpool, so the big names will stay away for now.

At this moment they need an authority who can motivate the players and create a good atmosphere. Dalglish as a Liverpool legend might do exactly that. Come May they can think about a new project with new names.

I suppose O'Neill will be in the running. As long as fans aren't allowed to dictate who the new manager is Liverpool should do better, once you get fans starting to talk about 'passion' and such it starts to go downhill. Liverpool fans have a bit in common with Newcastle for their love of club heroes, and we all saw how that turned out with a) a guy who hadn't managed for 10 years and b) a guy who hadn't managed full stop.
Agreed. They really should make an approach for O'Neill. He really did wonders with Villa.

As for the last part, you're mean.:D

Seriously E? Liverpool at that point in time were the team to beat. The team was fantastic & they were a strong, united force.

I really doubt Dalglish could work his magic again.
He won the title with Blackburn Rovers (took them from the second division)as well. It's not like he's been completely out of football since he left Liverpool.

I'm just saying if Roy continues to manage like a child, then something is going to need to be done. The last time a team "gave him a chance" they ended up relegated.

We may not be in a position to have a full on manager hunt and I think Kenny would be fine in a pinch. That's just my opinion.

Exactly, someone who isn't going to look at a 2 - 0 loss to Everton and say it was a good performance.

Someone who won't let Beetface call his star striker a cheater, while he has Nani on the pitch making a mockery of the sport.

Someone who will tell Steven Gerrard to step the fuck up or we're giving the arm band to Pepe Reina and shipping you off to Moscow.

Yeah but bare in mind the EPL has really evolved from that period. There aren't that many good english players & the league is flooded with foreigners.

He managed Newcastle & that was kind of mit & miss for him. Celtic, well they only have one challenger all season long(sorry Boz.:D)

If he's more of a short term solution to steady the ship, i'd say yeah, go for it but as long term manager, he doesn't strike me as the man to bring Liverpool back to their glory days.

Newcastle was unfair, Keegan's wake, injured Shearer, and all. But look at the young players he brought in they were stalwarts at Newcastle for years.

I wouldn't consider his Celtic stint a managing appointment. He was a make weight between the previous manager getting sacked and Celtic hiring MON.

As for the league being foreign, I don't think that makes a big deal. Kenny works in the Academy and last time I checked we have one or two non-english speaking lads in there.:D

What did Woy say to the Norwegian journalist?
The guy asked about the lack of service to Torres and Hodgson ignored him.

So he asked again and Hodgson asked if he was from Denmark.

The guy said Norway.

Hodgson said those are two places he never wants to work at again.

He should have just answered the question instead of letting Torres take flack from the press.

Fair enough, i'll agree that Shearer out was a big blow for Newcastle but as a manager one needs to improvise & work around the problem.

As for some of the players, lets not forget how they imploded under other Necastle coaches, E.

The point i was making about the foreigners is, that when liverpool were dominating, there weren't that many foreigners there. Once Wenger & Vialli came in, they started the trend of bringing in great foreign players which completely changed the face of the game.

Imploded? You don't even know who I'm talking about.:D

So what, Liverpool can sign foreigners as well (I think we have a few). Just because the face changes doesn't mean the game is any different. You still dribble with your feet and the object is still to put the ball in the back of the net. A good manager can use tactics to get the best out of his team.

If you're saying he's so old that the game has passed him by, I'll need to remind you that he's younger than Roy Hodgson. :D

Sure i do.

Are you telling me Ameobi & Griffin were a great Dalglish signings?

I didn't say all of his signings were terrible. I really liked Ketsbaia & Solano. Given was an excellent signing. Another horrible Newcastle player was dabizas.:D

That's not what i meant & you know it, E.:D

I just don't think he's up to it but anyway, let nostalgia take its course & hopefully you guys get back on track.

I was hinting a Given and Co. But if you must demean the man, go ahead. CHELSEA FAN!

We'll just have to agree that you're wrong on this on B.:D
