So who will challenge Chelsea?

United, I doubt it.

It might just be Arsenal.
Arsenal have had a kind start to the season and don't have a particularly difficult league game until they play Chelsea on Oct 3rd I believe, although the Blackburn win was a good result for them, somewhere they usually struggle.

I still think Chelsea will win it as I have for a while, Man Utd are not at the peak of their powers, but they'll still probably finish second on something like -8.

And their midfield is ageing (Giggs, Scholes) and partly crap (Anderson, Carrick), plus they pick up defensive injuries and Fergie is getting redder by the minute.

Redknapp said that Modric might have broken his leg, but that seems weird as he was on crutches at the ground at the end rather than at hospital, unless he is waiting to see a specialist.

I think we can mount a challenge for most of the season, but like last season, we'll probably fade away come the last 6-7 rounds of the season. Unless we get unusually lucky with injuries and get knocked out early in the CL, in that case, i think we might just have the capability to give Chelsea a run for their money.

I said it at the start of the season though, this season is Chelsea's once again.

I've always blamed Chelsea's successes on the United's failure to live up to their standard of football.

Losing Nistelrooy and Beckham handed Mourinho a couple of titles, and the same happened with Ancellotti last season and will happen this one.

Arsenal do not have a chance. Wenger cannot pull it off even with a better squad.

Liverpool is in deep shit.
