Burnley gave United plenty to think about there. Eagles in particular is having a great game against them, certainly looks like a player out to prove a point.

Chelsea's depth is amazing.

Today they're without Essien, Drogba, Kalou, Mikel, Bosingwa and Deco and not only that they still have a world class starting XI, but they also have guys like Alex and Zhirkov on the bench.
So true, their depth is pretty impressive. and people thought they'd be affected by the African Nations Cup

The same Sunderland side beat Liverpool and Arsenal and drew with United at Old Trafford, yet one result and you completely write them off as a shit team. Makes a lot of sense.

No i am not writing anyone of, but there is nothing "exciting" about results like 7-2 and 8-1. I dont even question Sunderland. Just the scoreline.

And yes, i am taking my piss at epl.

Everyone agrees about the scoreline.

We treat EPL with the same objectivity the English treat Serie A. It's only fair.

:p
Actually you guys treat the EPL much more objectively than PL fans treat Serie A. Yesterday i was trying to convince a bunch of Arsenal fans that Zlatan was in fact much better than RVP and that he is at the very least on par with Torres and Drogba.

I hate the way the bad defending is celebrated as "better football" among the lower clubs.

Some of the most special cases think that Messi wouldn't be a good player in the EPL FFS. :sergio:

I still doubt the folks around here who say the Prem's defending is far better than that of Spain. Just take a look at the league tables for example. The bottom half of the table in England has 9 clubs with 31 goals or more against and three clubs with 40 or more goals against with either 19 or 20 games played. In Spain's bottom half, only four sides have 30 or more goals against after 17 rounds played. In the top five in Spain, no club has let in more than 17 goals, while in England three out of the five top clubs have let in 22 goals or more.

Therefore, statistically, La Liga has slightly better defending than the Prem.

Now when watching the two leagues play, I see similar botch ups in both. But in no way do I see a sheer difference between the standard of defending in both leagues, especially when I watch clubs from the bottom half.

Could that not be due to the EPL having better attackers?*

*I do not necessary believe this to be the case.

You may be right.

I'm just suggesting it's overly simplistic to just look at how many goals the teams has conceded.
That's why I said statistically speaking. Of course statistics can lie at times. Although I do believe further investigation of this would be fruitful.

But I still don't see any real difference between the two while some Prem folks preach superiority in that area.

DONOVAN!!!!!!

Ahh shit, chipped just wide. Nice try though.

If that was Rooney, the commentators would be praising him. But since it's Landy, they question what he was doing.

LANDY AGAIN!
