Aquilani will not adjust to the Premiership as some of you guys are thinking. It will take him about 6 months to get used to the pace. He wont come in the team and replicate what Alonso did overnight.

The Alonso loss was obviously going to be a huge detriment, and I only remember seeing one Pool fan acknowledge it -- Enron.

The clowns at Xtratime all thought they would be able to win the league without him. Boo-hoo.
only an idiot would deny that losing Alonso was seriously bad news. Particularly at the beginning of the season, when the players have to learn how to play without him there to distribute the ball. The midfield has to evolve, and it's clear that it's supposed to be a much more fluid and flexible midfield, compared to the previous model of mascherano being a DM and Alonso as a very deep-lying playmaker. Lucas has stepped up to a certain extant, although that wasn't particularly evident against chelsea, but mascherano has unfortunately completely failed to adapt. Gerrard as well, has simply not adapted his game

I agree with the first part, who knows how long it will take him to adapt, but i'm keeping my hopes low.

But he's not supposed to be a like-for-like replacement for Alonso. He's supposed to be much more of a mobile player, linking play, getting in to the box, scoring, as well as circulating the ball and picking out passes.

Yeah, but Aquilani will probably find himself injured again as soon as he gets a sniff at how the Prem runs, so he will probably become a non-factor. He probably should have went to Spain because he will get torn a new a-hole in England.

If I was a player in England, Aquilani would be like fresh meat to prey upon. I can guarantee you that he would leave the pitch in a body bag if he was my opponent.

It's foolish to disregard Aquilani so easily, there is always a small chance he will be a complete flop but he is very talented and the main problem he is facing in England is his small frame. He may not be Alonso but he can still pass better than most of the best premiership players, if he can spend more time on the field than in the hospital he will be a success.

Cesc was the definition of world class today. Bendtner just made it 6-2.
He was absolutely majestic today. One of his best performances in a while now. Arshavin and Van Persie were great too. Champagne football on display today, despite the questionable defending.

The people that think Carra isn't finished are the same people that think Lucas is crap. Namely, idiots.

Am I the only one that is wondering why the commentator on Fox 2 is acting like Chelsea were so amazing?
Wait, you actually rate Lucas?

IMO he's on the same level as our Denilson. Both extremely mediocre players who do not deserve to be starting for such good teams.
