Mediocre performance from Liverpool today. Absolutely horrible defending on set pieces. They need to scrape the man marking on set pieces Rafa is so insistent on, it has always blown hot and cold for them.

Lucas again proves how poor he is, he just isn't the player Liverpool should be relying on, he adds absolutely nothing offensively and can only pass sideways, he isn't capable of a meaningful forward pass at all. It's forcing Masch to be the one that takes responsibility of moving the ball forward, and that is obviously not his area of expertise. Liverpool desperately need Aquilani back to fitness.

I have to stress though that Glen Johnson until now has looked like a great signing. He has been an outlet going forward and is along with Gerrard Liverpool's best player to date this season. If he keeps this up, i will regard him to be the best fullback in the league.

Totally agree, even if Aquilani will never come close to Alonso he's miles ahead of Lucas. That being said they were far to robotic & predictable. If Benitez thinks Voronin is gonna solve their attacking cover for Torres he's on crack. They need a proven goal scorer or else they might regret it if Torres is off form or injured.

Also Babel im actually at a loss for words with his wasteful display today but Villa's work rate was marvelous & were ultimately the better team today.

By the way,who gave Torres the shiner?

It's funny you say that about Johnson because I remember you telling me I needed to see a psychiatrist when I said I wanted him in the RB/LB thread.

Correction, it's 24m BP which is almost 28m eur. It's more than what we paid for Diego or Melo :howler:
I read that Man City have spent around 250 MEuro so far this season and that there still is room for one more player if this is necessary for Hughes before the transfer deadline.
Also, they have put a nice sum of 100 MEuro aside for transfers in January if needed.

Rediculous.
