how can any manager be certain that a player will remain 100% fit?
Think about it, if almost all of football fans not just serie A fans but even majority of PL fans know about he's injuries don't you think benitez would know about it ?!

Last two seasons the number of players injured in Roma's squad was Huge. Totti is injured almost always these days and he wasn't known to be such an injury prone player (had some injuries when he was young but nothing serious). Not just him, mexes, juan and many others were injured alot last few seasons.

I think its not just Roma's problem but its almost every club in italy faces that issue (including Juve). Remember how frustrated Kaka was last season from milan's medics. But IMO Roma were the worst.

20million pounds for a player who hasn't really proved much is madness. Aquilani may have been a good buy for Benitez, but not for 20million... A little more than half of that maybe...
When you look at the statistics the weird thing is that the two have played the same number of league matches over the last three seasons.

to be honest i think it all comes down to finances, Italian clubs are much poorer compared to 10 years ago and they are forced to cut their squad sizes, introduce players at a younger age and burn them out quicker than before

I'm not talking about the basic idea, I meant in the practical sense
