The only thing I can find regarding the wage he will get at Liverpool is from ****.com. Probably because the final details haven't been made public at the moment.

Atletico want to move Maxi so they can bring in Merida from Arsenal and some other talent from South America.
Your a little mistaken there, the President's come out and said there a going to be two main additions: Merdia being one, and then they've given an ultimatum to Tiago to make a decision by Sunday to move there. If that dosen't materialize then they press to bring in Eduardo Salvio in from Lanús. Who mind you is a player I'd like at Juve.

Maxi for 1.5 million is definately a bargain !! He was a constant starter for atletico for the past years, don't know about this season though.

But a good move by liverpool.

Where was I mistaken, and who is Merdia?

You forgot Tiago, and I meant Merida.
The article I read yesterday didn't mention Tiago. They were just highlighting Merida and Salvio, saying those would be good guys for the future. They won't get Tiago unless they give him the sort of hefty contract he has here.

I see Aaron and Fred were discussing about Arda. even though rumour has disappeared here is a little info about him.

He is technically gifted and he has a good character unlike his generation. He is physically weak, he is not too fast but perfect dribbler, he can't shoot with power generally but he has good accuracy. He can play as AMRLC but his natural position is left wing. He is currently captain of Galatasaray and their president want 15-20 million € for him. Arda is loyal to his club so most likely he won't be bitching about leaving and whoever want him should pay that money. There was a discussion in Turkiye about difference between Modric and Arda. Spurs payed around 26 million € for Modric but Arda had no offers like that despite his performance in Euro 2008. at the end, answer was one of them has Croatian passport and other one is Turkish. Croatia produced players like Prosinecki, Suker, Boban. on the other hand %90 of Turkish players who played in europe failed miserably. quality wise, they are not much different.

The thing about premier league "top clubs" is that they will never suffer financially IMO atleast in the near future (10 years or so). If clubs like United or liverpool owners have financial difficulties to the point that they can't continue anymore there will be dozen of billionaires waiting to buy these clubs at any given time.

The market for premier league clubs is pretty Lucrative Everyone wants a piece of that pie. Personaly i think that the last thing that premier clubs would worry about is the financial side of the game.

One thing that i've noticed about the english media is that they're just too pessimistic specially when it comes to money or finances. They always anticipate the bad thing before the good. Probably its just their nature don't know really.
yup serie a was just like this, sure Lazio and Fiorentina thought that they would have no problem getting bailed out of financial problems
