About Wigan it really is a weird one. Was it only last season when Titus Bramble was so consistent for them? wonder what happened.
He has always blown hot and cold. Like you said he was consistently good for them last season, this season he's back to being a calamity.

On Pompey, they lost all hope and were just watching us play after we scored our third. They didn't even try.

As for Wigan, well they have a Spanish coach, of course they won't know how to defend :p. On a more serious note though, they seem to lose the plot against the bigger teams and ship in an insane amount of goals(see Tottenham and United games for reference), i think the reason they don't give the big teams any trouble is the fact that they have by far the worst defense that i've personally seen in the EPL this season. Their defense really is horrible, unlike organized teams like Fulham, Sunderland or Stoke.
A mate of mine here is a die hard stoke fan and he attributes most of the good fortunes they get back to the Pulis. As you said they are really horrible defensively against the big teams and just surrender. Between the candidates to go down, i really hope they do unless they change this weak, submissive attitude.

About Pompey, i read yesterday (on soccernet i think) that they are seeking new owners. The premiership or the FA have to take a lot of the blame for this debacle. Players and staff are not getting their money, a club is just in chaos with internal fighting but they sat their doing nothing. That guy Storrie must be the most corrupt SOB i've heard of in a while. He effectively overthrew the previous owners only because he wanted new ones and in that process sold the best players for dirt. Look at the club now, almost on the brink with basic things like wages don't get paid ffs.

About Stoke, while they are poor and submissive defensively against the bigger teams, they have been rather solid defensively against the other teams. They definitely have improved significantly on the defensive side relative to last season. At home they rarely concede many goals, even though they don't seem very capable of playing well away from home. I think Stoke is defintely staying up this season.

About Pompey, they are deep in financial problems, they have too much internal problems and they've sold their best players over the past year and a half, their squad is too weak and the quality just isn't there. Despite playing some decent entertaining football, they are just not good enough. IMO the team that is definitely going down this season.

Yeah i agree about Stoke, they will need Tuncay to play well all season for them to do anything better than surviving though.

My point about Pompey is that the authorities neglected all the crap happening in the club due to the promise of more mega money coming in. Now the club is in the shits and good riddance.

About, Pompey :agree:

I like Arda Turan.
From the little i've seen of him, he does look like he's the real deal. Too bad Turk isn't around to shed some light on this.

I like Arda Turan.
Exciting player, can dribble pretty well and has a good shot on him. Shame I've not been able to watch him much apart from EURO 2008 and now and then in the UEFACup/Europa League, but I saw him scoring a couple of times. Problem is he's gonna be expensive, fan's favorite at Galatasaray, captain too iirc.

I've read he has typical issues with consistency, but is a hard worker that isn't too good to play a bit of defense.

He's got a ridiculous strike/assist rate this season. In 17 matches (all competitions) he has 17 assists and 7 goals. In the Turkish league he has 8 assists and 4 goals in 10 matches.
