Anyone saw the United-Villa game?

Dramatic match, Villa played the game of their lives, they definitely didnt deserve to lose. But United gave a champions performance today. They were determined, they never gave up and eventually scored two goals in the last 10 minutes. After this game, i am convinced Man Utd deserve to win the league.

That was a beautiful goal by Macheda, looks like a promising player, that chap.

That was one of the single most amazing finishes to a game in a long long while, a classy 17 year old coming on and playing with such certainty and poise, taking that calculating and brilliant goal like its nothing for him. Really, IMMENSE.

Big kudos to Fergie for believing in youngsters so much. Their strikers duo were 17 and 18 years old, hehe.

Well then its incompetence by Fulham's defense that Liverpool capitalized on. Still not luck in my eyes.
It wasn't incompetent.

The player made a good tackle on Gerrard and the ball just happened to fall perfectly for Benayoun.

I don't see how the goal cannot be seen as fortunate.

Traitors? They just playing the game. Don't haterade.
They got raised in Italy and learned to play football also in Italy. Money were invested in them as well as high hopes. But in the end the ones who get profit from their skills are England clubs, as the better ones play for them for a while, and after that they probably sell them for good money. How else do you call these players, who choosed to escape their country and earn big money at the age 16-18? If Italian Football Federation can`t change the law, they should change the attitude towards these young fookers. Maybe next time they will think about earning dirty money a year or two faster.

How much money do you think a club invests in a young player? It isn't a lot, which is why you see so many kids go through youth clubs. Those players are generally a dime a dozen. Usually the really good ones stay in Italy but occasionally they go somewhere else.

If you picked the rosters of the EPL I don't think you would find 3 Italian youngsters with a shot at actually playing serious football in the EPL.

I find it funny that a fan of a country that poaches players like Balotelli and Rossi is so disappointed when their young players play club football in England. I mean it isn't as if they are playing for England's National Team.

Im pretty sure the amount he is payed wont increase enough to make it worthwhile for money alone. United is one of the top teams in the world at the moment anyway.

national teams and clubs are different things. u don`t get payed much when playing for NT, you play for pride, trophies, international recognation or whatever else, but it`s not the thing someone should get bitter of.

the case of Macheda in Lazio or Petrucci in Rome isnt the case of just one kid, they don`t pick random kids, they pick the ones, that are the best. one of hundred kids may turn out to be like Macheda, so the investment is serious afterall. and the thing that England don`t gain much by this don`t really satisfy the robbed side, do it? and we shall see if Macheda and Petrucci turns out being great, but when someone do, at least you wont be able to say, that the fans of italian football didn`t protest when they started their careers in Premiership.

This is why the 6-5 rule should be brought into play immediately. Instead of poaching youngsters from all over the world they'll have to focus more on English players.

Good luck with that.

The thing is the 6-5 rule does nothing to prevent teams from signing youngsters from other countries. If there is a really good young player on a mid table Serie A squad, there is really nothing they can do to prevent it. 6-5 just prevents "many" youngsters from getting poached.

Well yeah of course. But if you take a look at some of the youth teams from England the amount of foreigners in them is insane.

For instance, the Juventus Primavera is primarily full of Italians. The 6-5 rule will force clubs to focus more on talent from their own country as they must need to field it to survive.

well, i seriously doubt that there's such a dearth of talent in the UK, but what I do know is that their training is simply not good enough at youth level to produce top level players. Which, if the 6+5 rule is introduced, will have to change quickly, otherwise the premier league will have a very tough time staying competitive

True, but the top players will still continue to be poached by top clubs. It needs to do more than that, such as limit sales of youth players til after their 18th birthday or after they sign a pro contract. So that the teams at least get some sort of cash if a top club decides to play "let's make a deal".
