Man City - Boro

Bellamy doing well for City, two goals already for his team, really proving himself to be a good signing. Given played great today as well. Why oh why didn't we go for him? The most underrated keeper in the league by a country mile.

Pompey - Liverpool

what a strange formation Rafa started with?

It didn't work out too well, as both Dossena and Arbeloa didn't offer enough attacking threat going forward. Aurelio did well in his new midfield role, but Liverpool without Alonso are a toothless team.

Torres came in today and completely changed the game. What a world of difference a fully fit Torres would do for Liverpool. Truly world class player.

i wouldn't say Given is underrated. Most reasonably intelligent fans know that he's an extremely good shot-stopper, and one of the best keepers in the league.

i agree about liverpools formation, when I saw it I thought eurosport must have seriously fucked up! Aurelio played well, but you're right that neither arbeloa or dossena did as much offensively as they should have, given that they were playing as wingbacks. However, I do think that the formation showed some promise, as the football liverpool played for the first 30 minutes was excellent, despite the lack of genuine attacking threat in the last third of the pitch. They were passing very well, and keeping the ball. I think that was the idea from the beginning, keep the ball, hope that babel, n'gog and benayoun can create something, while keeping torres and alonso rested for most of the match to be used if needed. Rafa's subs were also excellent. Kuyt came on to run around and pressure Pompey's defence, which he did, Alonso came on and gave us control of the midfield, letting benayoun in particular become more dangerous, and then torres on to give us a cutting edge. worked quite well, despite being rather nervewrecking

ELP the best league in the world with the best teams.
Liverpool top of the league, therefore arguably the best team in that league.

HeeHaw

What a load of old tosh against the Posh.

Good move to sell Keane.

Bored? Mate... I'm tired. It's closing on 5:00am here and I've spent an evening baby sitting people that neglect to hold their drink.

Then I come on here... hoping for some sort of wind down. And what do I see?

Some tosser... who can't even focus on his own club's misfortune long enough to make a productive discussion in a relevant thread talking about things he can't possibly understand. And it's not even original... It's the same old, same old.

No, I'm not bored... but the fellow trolling this thread saying the same thing over and over again certainly shows the symptoms.

Look you follow me around, always commenting on my post, as today where you casually insult me, but hey we all need a hobby, but get the message I find you dull.

I happened to watch the last four Liverpool games, and i made comment on them: this a forum right? And what i have seen has been piss poor, tactics, playing, and players (except three or four, who I would take for our team).

So if you think that is Trolling (whatever that is) then that is your problem.
The fact you hang around with poor drinkers is not interesting to me, and nor is the fact that you want to create friction with me: I can only guess you have failed to make friction with anyone of late.

In other words: put your powder-puff away.

That is some defence Manchester united have.
Vidic is superb. Can't see Inter beaten them over two legs. Good to see Giggs produce a piece of youthful magic.

How come The Van was never that good for us?

Eboue fucked it up for us today. Sheer and utter stupidity for the red card today, probably costing us that crucial 4th place. 7 points away from Aston Villa is way too much.

Only positive i can draw from this game, was our defense's performance, with the exception of the horrible Clichy(again), they were all very solid today. Gallas put in a world class performance. If we defended like this all season, we wouldn't be in the position we're in right now.

Man Utd on the other hand showing how efficient they are against West Ham. They barely created any chances, Zola is getting West Ham to play some decent football. They played rather well, kept possesion and rarely left any space for Man Utd's attack. But one mistake by Green was enough to seal it.

it seems that man utd are struggling as well, but their lack of created chances harbors on rooney's absence. but i do think they are doing the bare minimum to win matches and relying on their defense/VDS to do the hard part

btw, giggs goal was not that bad either
