Exactly this is just an indirect way of bribing him to stay for longer. He'll change his mind when Wenger decides to sell van Persie and Adebayor in the summer replacing them with Bentdner and Josh Simpson.
That would cause major havoc in the team & not to mention destroying fan confindence.Wenger's time is surely but slowly running out it seems.

I was kidding obviously, but how much more of this is Van Persie going to take?? He came to the club with an ambition to develop and win trophies. the latter doesnt look like its going to happen any time soon.

I'm realistic, i dont expect all the players to be Del Piero's. Van Persie, Cesc and even Adebayor would want to leave if the club continues this way.

fred when i spoke to my cousin who just like u supports arsenal he told me that the board were not spending much cos apparently they have a debt to pay up (emirates stadium). he does agree though that weneger needed to captalize on transfer money considering teams are hunting yr players one after the other.

so in a way i agree with u, some of the blame falls on weneger not for any of his tactical choices ( apart from the spurs game) he makes but for his stubborn mentality that he can win everything with youngsters. i think vela should be getting his share of play right now he is a really good player. the likes of diaby, hoyte and song are not arsenal squad players in my opinion.

as for Bentdner i think he is not as bad as u make him out to be fred lets not forget he has'nt been playing much recently. i think this arsenal team is just unlucky u have two key players sidelined for ages now. eduardo and rosicky are really being missed now.

Yes we do have a debt to pay, but we are also the second richest team in terms of profit last year, so i'm sure the funds could have been provided.

Vela should have got more playing time when both Van Persie and Adebayor were out. He definitely has looked a promising prospect whenever given the chance.

Believe me he is as terrible as i make him out to be. Most if not all Arsenal fans will agree that he has the touch of a rapist, and the grace of a tractor. His off the ball movement is non existant. We never create chances when he's our main striker, because he doesnt know how to move off the ball.

He is really the worst striker to play under Arsene along with Francis Jeffers imo.

@fred: i never knew u guys where the second team profit wise, i guess this makes a lot of sense now. i thought u had no money thats why i thought it was abit rough to blame it on the board but now i see yr point and i have to agree its about time arsne starts buying expireneced players who will help add that missing edge to the team. i think some one like yaya toure fills the bill to replace flamini and diara cos at the moment thats what u guys need the most.

Wenger originally started focusing on youngsters because he thought he would have very little money to spend while the stadium was being built.

He now seems to have taken this too far and is unwilling to buy proven top class players now that money is available, and the Arsenal board has continually insisted that there is money availabe.

Wenger needs a new challenge and fresh fields. He has become stale and isolated. I feel he has a dislike of the ELP flashing the cash culture.

He should come to Torino and build a young team here. He can bring Cesc with him.

I think they're saving all this money for whoever will come after wenger to manage the team. The club is doing pretty good even though they're not spending much. When the time comes and wenger leaves (probably in 5-10 years time) Whoever will come can spend that money on top players that can keep the club top in england and in europe ( even if the new manager wasn't as good as wenger, smart business IMO)......
