And Tottenham are fielding these guys:

Gomes - Okay keeper
Hutton - Probably overrated but a decent player
O'Hara - Nothing special
Dawson- Good
Corluka - Good
Lennon - Overrated? He's not that bad
Huddlestone- Okay/average
Zokora - Inconsistent
Bale - Good
Campbell - average
Pavlyuchenko - average

Down the middle of the pitch, Pool is solid at the back, with Lukas in midfield, and Torres up top.

Add in Degen and Dossena and the fact neither of them can defend and that might be the worst back line in the Prem.

You're right I was thinking of Richard Dunne. And Corluka did transfer. At the same time Dawson has been a fixture for a while, even though he hasn't played much this season.
He has been a reular starter for a while. Until Juande Ramos came and he was relegated to the bench.

I was on a plane to Italy during that match. :)
And you know you didn't miss much, like its usually with our clubs. Anyway, that Huddlestone guy scored a pretty good goal.

and that 1st half was the worst I've seen liverpool play in my life. absolutely shocking!
I missed it, but I'm sure it was rubbish. Insua was impressive. I would have been happy with him going with Insua and Darby on the outside.

I can't wait til the Yids come to Anfield later in the season.

I edited my previous post. I missed Dinamo's first match because i was flying to Italy. I, luckily, missed Tottenham-Dinamo due to another reason.

And Tottenham are fielding these guys:

Gomes - Okay keeper
Hutton - Blah
O'Hara - Nothing special
Dawson- Good
Corluka - Good
Lennon - Overrated
Huddlestone- Okay/average
Zokora - Fails to impress
Bale - Good
Campbell - average
Pavlyuchenko - average

Gomes is a starter. Cavalieri makes him look top class.
hutton, blah, but not disastrous! same with o'hara. trust me, degen and dossena are genuinely disastrous. they looked shit in friendly's against 2nd division teams!
dawson and corluka-agger is definitely as good as they are, but hyppia, as i said is so slow that it doesn't matter. lennon might be overrated, but he's still prety good.
huddleston and zokora, ok, not great, but again, they've played in the premiership and have experience.
bale, good, of course,
campbell might be average, but he doesn't need to be great against the defence liverpool had. same with pavlyuchenko. and they're better up front than a just-returned torres and n'gog.

liverpool wasn't/isn't solid at the back. hyppia is way beyond it, and as i said D+D are fucking shit. I think Lucas is decent (he was one of the better players for us today) but a lot of people who have seen him more than I have say he's total ass. babel is alright, but he has a long way to go. el zhar played well in the second half, but he really is a fringe player.

Dossena is a football player who was a complete anonimous in serie A until last year. Even serie A freaks like me didn't know him, eventhough he was 26.
Then he had a pretty good season down the flank for Udinese and Pool bought him.
As it turned out he was just a one season wonder. Chances were big that he will not repeat the successfull last season and that's why i was surprised Benitez wanted him.

Hyppia should be sold. He has no business being anywhere near a team like Liverpool in his current state. He is way past it.

N'gog is an average player and would never make it into the Liverpool first team. El Zhar as much as i'd love him to do well, isnt good enough either imo.

Well, the reason isn't that important, good thing is that you did missed it.

Well it's obviously pretty bad.
It shouldn't be. Hyypia may be old but he can read the game. Degen can play the game as he did fine for the Swiss in 2006. Dossena is not a special player but he can be solid.

I mean, it's not like you have a bunch of morons back there. If they can't form a partnership, well, that's more of Benitez's fault.

we're hoping he'll retire gracefully and stay at liverpool as a coach. el zhar has looked alright though. nothing incredible, but solid.

Last year, wasn't Dossena playing as a winger for Udinese most of the time?

you're wrong. D+D ARE a bunch of morons. two of the worst players i've ever seen at liverpool. i know they've done well in the past, but the amount of mistakes they make is ridiculous. and hyppia can read, sure, but he's slow as fucking molasses.

the only reason Zhar is so highly rated was because of his exploits in the U21 youth cup(cant remember which year, the one that messi played in) He took Morocco to the semi's and was chosen third best player of the tournament after Messi and Mikel.

Probably Benitez's fault. I think it was more of an issue of having a bunch of guys that have never been on the pitch together.

Dossena on the other hand seems to be not very good. Maybe its the old curse of Italians in England thing, but I hope he settles in soon.
