The english are new in all that signing players (foreign players) business (after all they've just started in the 90's). Thats why they depend soo much on their managers to do everything for the club (which worked great so far for them). But what will happen when you have the wrong manager in you're club who buys the wrong players (similar in a way to what happened with tottenham in this case).
Clubs like man united and arsenal are lucky to have managers like ferguson and wenger to take these decisions. But both those guys won't stay forever in their clubs. Both those clubs will face big issues when those two guys leave one day....
you got it wrong there mate, that wasnt what Tottenham were doing, they had Commolli (former Arsenal scout) as the man in charge of signings, Not Juande Ramos.
fred beat me to it, the same thing happened at newcastle, that is why keegan walked! he was not having a say in who was brought in, the positions that were to be strengthened and was basically just having players dumped on him by a GM who did not really give a damn what he wanted. keegan felt this undermined his position and walked, quite right as well
as fred said earlier, if you are the man in the firing line then you want to say who comes in,who goes out and if you have a grand plan for a club then they MUST listen to you
FUUUUUCKK YEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
sorry, just had to get that out of the way. absolutely thrilled! sounds like we did a great job of containing them and creating dangerous counterattacks. i am SO HAPPY! Juve beat toro, and liverpool end chelsea's unbeaten streak
while liverpool played a very tacticaly sond game, chelsea only have themselves to blame. their passing was sloppy throughout the game and there was absolutely no sense of urgency about their play. in the end they surrendered an outstanding home record rather meekly
