i was talking to some people at work and they support various teams and they all agreed that football in england is ding, clubs are becoming commodities, and the clubs that fans support are becoming worthless.

DPF82, but Gill is right how can a club be taken-over, and on the same day break the transfer record in the country its fucking ridicoulous this is going to be a case of way way way too much money, and this will inflate the the market even more, imagine if this had happened in the begging of the summer the whole market would have been different. Not that Manure have helped 30.74 for Berbatov he aiight but this is taking it to unreal proportions from the whole EPL.

Football, money, success.

This is a new concept?
Hl
Rich clubs have always been the most successful, lets not be so hypocritical: our own club have had a modicum of titles in no small part to some rich fellow, whose name escapes me now.

man city is just testament to how shit epl is and how heartless it is now. they were sold in an instant and went mad in their buys. i was listening to the radio and there was a debate between a united fan a dna city fan, and the united fan had the balls to say 'man city have no class with what they did etc', fucking cunt. with all these foreign owners and foreign players england will nebver be good really and they have killed a part of football. serie A, la liga, bundesliga all have heart, england's just shit.
Agreed, good post. Shameful big business.

Maybe City will use their power for good and not evil?

Still I can't really see why everyone here is so upset. No one on this site would complain if some dude with more cowboy cash than he could could count grabbed up Juve and started purchasing world class talent.

yep, it was on channel 4 news, they're an extremely reliable bunch. Man u has 1.6 billion, whilst man city now has an astounding 23.6( something like that I can't rember the exact figure) the buy out is only 200 million a drip in the ocean for them

They have been wasting no time claiming they are bigger than united, on channel 4 news the rep for city, said they are the only club in manchester, which is true because united are in trafford which is classed as a different place as it has it's own council, but none the less a huge slap across united's face.
Also Al-Fahim said he would prefer to splurge 50 million pounds (US$90 million; €62 million) on one player than 10 average signings for the same amount.
I'll leave you to decide wether that is good or not.

So what. What can you do about it? If the guy wants to throw 50 million bones at a really good player what's going to stop him?

Really I could care less about how much money a team has. People should really just wait and see how this translates onto the pitch. All they've done so far is purchased Robinho, a good player. Last time I checked Robinho isn't a whole team of mercenaries. He's just one player. Or is he?

Spot on. And not only it's bad for the sport, but then we'll have these cunts and fans of these cunts claiming they're now some legendary club or something when they've won fuckall. They have no history, no tradition, just money and now a bunch of grimy bastard fans.

If that isn't good for football, I don't know what is.

I see. Age old case of old money being better than new money. Really there are very few teams in the world who's success hasn't come from some guys pocket book at one time or another.

Cunts talking like cunts talking about cunt things and cunt trivialities is really nothing to get upset about. Expecting clubs not to try and better themselves is just really really naive. What are they supposed to do? Petition against their club for selling itself to a really really wealthy group?

there's nothing wrong with a club buying a good player, not at all.
Think about it though, chelsea can only afford to splash out 32milion on a new player every now and again. But now with city there are no limits, one of the chief abu dabi guys that is running the club said he would offer 135 million for c.ronaldo.
Now i'm not going to jump to conclusions here, there is still time for this whole thing to pan out yet, this is only one buy as you said. but then again they confirmed that the club went crazy offering in a total of 300 million for some of the worlds best players in the space of a night. I say this time next year we will be able to see what direction this club has taken.
