to be frank i think arsene has taken it too far with his youngster policy, i dont want this to sound knee jerk or anything, but if he doesnt deliver the league or CL this season, i want him replaced. I love the man and all, but not everyone can do an Alex Ferguson.
Arsene wenger is the guy behind the success of arsenal in the late 90's and till now. That guy changed the whole mentality of the club (i've seen arsenal before he's era and believe me you don't want to watch that side of the club). Am 100% sure that the owners won't fire him just becuase he didn't win anything. They're happy as long as arsenal are qualifing to the CL every year and arsene is not spending much $$ on new players.

i know all that, and believe me i am grateful. But what pains me is that we can win the league, if we kept our team of last season, all we needed was some minor tweaks, a signing or two...but Arsene sold 5 first team players last year and only replaced one of them, and now we're back to square one.

but what a signing for city. Robinho and Benjani upfront with Elano, SWP and Petrov behind them, they'll become a big force.

Give him the money and he would win you both.

The truth is he will succum to the lure of glory and move on at the end of the year.
I know a great team who could do with him.

the money is there if he wants it. But he's too much of an idealist, or in other words he's too stubborn to change his methods.

With Citeh looking set to become the new Chelsea, I have no doubt that 6+5, or something forcing clubs to use domestic talent, will be put into place shortly.

Ignoring the effect it's having on English players, this 'billionaire club' of teams getting larger will only make the standings more predictable.

Not to mention the effect it will have on football as a whole. Transfer fee's will become even more inflated, more talent will be stolen from smaller clubs across Europe and South America, and the CL will lose its edge.
